ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE has admitted that confidence is low at Arsenal, and that their beleaguered stars are pleased that the international break has rolled around.

The Frenchman is yet to score in, or even win a Premier League match since returning from an ankle injury on October 21.

The Gunners only mustered ONE shot on target as they fell to a meek, predictable 2-0 defeat at Leicester City on Saturday.

And Lacazette was understandably downbeat after the game.

He said: "We miss confidence and we need the international break. I hope we are going to come back well.

"We need to work more than we do now to find confidence.

"We are very disappointed, we had chances in the first half. We couldn’t score and you need to take your chances in this type of game.

“We have to work again and keep working everyday. But I think we didn’t play so bad, we just missed our chances in the first half.

"We want to be top four of course.

"Now we are nine points behind Chelsea and Leicester and it is going to be hard but everything is possible in football.

"We still have time until the end of the season. We are going to work to come back.”

Arsenal are one of a number of established top clubs under-performing this season.

Tottenham and Manchester United have also struggled to hit the heights of previous campaigns.

But of the three beleaguered managers, the clouds seem to be hovering around Unai Emery in particular.

Talks of fan and player unrest have been rife in recent weeks at the Emirates.

At the weekend Arsenal fans joined in as their Leicester counterparts taunted Emery with "sacked in the morning" chants.

And the recent Granit Xhaka farce is rumoured to have caused divisions among the squad.

With the Swiss having been stripped of the armband, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has stepped into the role.

But just one week into his captaincy, Aubameyang is said to be troubling certain members of the squad with his ties to fan channel AFTV.
