The Giants have released wide receiver Golden Tate, ESPN reported Wednesday, a move that frees up $6.1 million in cap space.

Tate, 32, caught 35 passes for 388 yards and two touchdowns last season, his second with the Giants.

He was benched one game after famously yelling, “throw me the damn ball” during a November game.

Tate also was involved in an October on-field fight with Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, with whom he had bad blood over family drama.

The Giants also cut David Mayo, according to ESPN, and the move provides the team $2.3 million in cap relief.
