ENGLAND are set for a massive Rugby World Cup semi-final as they take on New Zealand.

But how have they done against the All Blacks before, and have they met in this tournament?

What is England's head to head record against New Zealand?

New Zealand have had the whip hand over England in past matches between the two sides.

In 44 meetings, the All Blacks have won 33, lost seven and drawn one.

Steven Hansen's men have also won all of the previous six matches against England.

But England will believe they can spring a shock, with four of the last six meetings being decided by a margin of less than seven points.

The Red Rose's last win came in 2012, with a brilliant display from Owen Farrell inspiring a crushing 38-21 win at Twickenham.

Brad Barritt, Chris Ashton and Manu Tuilagi crossed the line for England that day.

Have England played New Zealand in a Rugby World Cup before?

England have met New Zealand three times in the Rugby World Cup with the All Blacks winning all three.

But those results shouldn't have too much bearing on this semi-final as the sides haven't faced each other at the tournament in 20 years.

In their last meeting, New Zealand ran out 30-16 winners at Twickenham in 1999.

They also won 18-12 at the same venue in 1991.

But their most famous World Cup clash against England was the semi-final in South Africa in 1995.

On that day, Jonah Lomu scored an unprecedented four tries to earn the All Blacks a 45-29 win at Newlands.
