DAVID LUIZ has told Chelsea that he wants to make a sensational move to rivals Arsenal.

SunSport understands the Brazilian informed the club that he wanted to quit today, and ended up skipping training.

Gunners boss Unai Emery is desperate to add at least one centre-back this summer – but has struggled to get some of his main targets in.

And his latest search looks to have taken him much closer to home.

Interestingly, Luiz shares the same agent as Arsenal's new director of football and former player Edu.

Arsenal are yet to bring any defensive reinforcements through the door – despite shipping a fair few out.

Club captain Laurent Koscielny departed for Bordeaux while Carl Jenkinson has joined Championship side Nottingham Forest.

TIERNEY TO FOLLOW?

Youngster Krystian Bielik has joined Derby for a fee believed to be around £7m.

With serious doubts over the from of Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis, and Rob Holding and Calum Chambers returning from injury and loan, there is work to do.

The club are still in negotiations with Celtic over a £25million deal for Scottish international full-back Kieran Tierney.

But signing another centre-back to replace Koscielny is now Unai Emery’s top priority.

They are still exploring the possibility of negotiating a loan deal for Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti even though the French international is currently on the club’s pre-season tour of the USA.

But they are also looking at other defensive options ahead of tomorrow’s 5pm deadline.

They did look at the idea of a two-year loan deal for Rugani – who dates stunning sports journalist Michela Persico – with a guaranteed permanent signing fee of £37million in 2021.

But they could not agree payment terms with Juventus and have now accepted that deal is not going to happen.

And now seemingly Luiz has been sniffed out – and is keen for an Emirates switch.
