BRIGHTON are favourites to sign Aston Villa striker Danny Ings this summer – with Leeds and Everton, who are after a Richarlison replacement, appearing right on their heels.

Sky Bet have placed Graham Potter’s side at 4/1 to sign the England striker, having found consistent form hard to come by at Villa Park.

The forward, who will be 30 by the time next season starts, joined Villa last season for a fee of £26m from Southampton.

The striker managed just seven goals in 31 games, having scored 38 goals in 75 games in the previous two seasons for the Saints.

Villa’s other main striker, Ollie Watkins, bagged 11 goals last season and is four years Ings’ junior.

Watkins is thought to be ahead of Ings in Steven Gerrard’s pecking order, so a move away from the club could be a viable option.

Brighton have been lacking a top class striker for years now, and it seems Potter is eyeing up Ings as his solution to the problem.

Neal Maupay has only reached double figures once in his three seasons in the Premier League, and has just a year left on his contract.

Ings still has two years left on his deal at Villa, so the club aren’t in a position where they need to sell.

Potter’s men finished 9th last season, which is the best top-flight finish in the club’s history.

Leeds were as big as 25/1 earlier in the window to be Ings' next destination but they have been slashed to 6/1.

The absence of Patrick Bamford for much of the campaign really dented Leeds' progress and they only managed to stay up on the final day.

They will be hoping for a better crack at the big time this time around and the experience and goals of Ings would certainly help that.

Richarlison's departure of Everton means they're now in the hunt for a new striker and Ings has been touted as a potential replacement for Frank Lampard's side.

The Brazilian's departure leaves just Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Salomon Rondon as strikers at the club, who scored a combined six league goals last season.

A move back to Southampton also appears to be a possibility for Ings, after just a year away from the club.

The 29-year-old was born near the city and grew up supporting the Saints as a child.

Sky Bet are pricing a return to the St Mary’s Stadium for Ings at 10/1.

West Ham are also being linked with lining up a move for the Villa striker and can be backed at 12/1.

It’s been well documented that David Moyes is desperate for a new striker at London Stadium.

Michail Antonio is the only striker at Moyes’ disposal currently and Ings is being priced at 10/1 to be the one to provide Antonio with that competition.

New boys Bournemouth and Fulham can be backed at 16/1 and 20/1, while Spurs were also thought to be in for Ings last week when 12/1 shots but they have drifted well out to 25/1.
