UFC legend Daniel Cormier has called out Jake Paul for a fight in the octagon and promised to 'torture him'.

The two squared up to each other at UFC 261 at the weekend.

A fired-up Cormier confronted the outspoken Disney star and wagged his finger in his face between fights.

Paul has since called Cormier a 'fat boy' on Twitter, and said he would 'beat the f***' out of the 42-year-old former UFC two-weight world champ.

Despite initially saying he wasn't interested in a fight with the YouTuber, Cormier appears riled up enough to entertain the idea.

Speaking to ESPN's Ariel Helwani, the American said: I don't want to fight anyone. But I'm not going to let Jake Paul disrespect me.

"I wanted to grab him by the face and smash him into the ground but you can't do that at work, I would have gotten into a lot of trouble.

"This is not going to be fun. At 42 years old and with a bad back, I'm going to torture him. I'm going to hurt him.

"I don't want to box him, I don't want to fight in a limited skill set of rules; if you really want to fight me, fight me in a mixed martial arts competition.

"My name will not be used as a springboard. I love my legacy and I will protect my legacy and if protecting my legacy means I've got to slap this kid upside his head, that's what I'll do.

"I'll fight him at 205lbs. I'm fat, I'm happy but I'll go all the way down to 205lbs to fight him in mixed martial arts."

Paul 24, beat ex-MMA ace Ben Askren in the ring last weekend before calling out the retired Cormier.

And after being spotted by the crowd at Florida's VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena, Paul was roundly booed.

At one stage, supporters broke into a rousing chant of 'f*** Jake Paul'.

The 3-0 boxing ace waved his arms in the air as he egged on the crowd – before sticking his middle finger up in the direction of the stands.

Paul's appearance also seemed to irk the usually calm and jovial Cormier, as the pair squared up to each other in the stands.
