A pensioner left in tears over her hair transformation says the procedure has changed her life.

Eighty-year-old Brenda Vickers' mid-length had started thinning leaving her with bald patches on top.

Her confidence took such a hit she felt embarassed to look in the mirror.

Two years ago, the grandma reached out to hair specialist Rob Wood, who runs salon Novo Cabelo which offers hair systems to clients.

Agreeing to be Rob's first female customer to do a "blind react" video, Brenda couldn't believe the transformation when she finally looked in the mirror.

She burst into tears after seeing her "pints of hair", with viewers saying she looked "20 years younger".

The OAP has since spoken to Chronicle Live about the "light bulb" moment when she decided to act and how life has been since the hair system.

"The transformation has been unbelievable," she said.

"People have said it has taken years off me.

"I heard about it through a relative's granddaughter and it was a light bulb moment for me because my hair had been thinning.

"I don't know if it is hereditary, age-related, or hormonal. But five years ago I was diagnosed with Coeliac and one of the things is that it can cause hair loss, so it could be a mix of all this.

"The hair system is fabulous. It has just transformed my life completely."

The hair expert also helped 29-year-old Ben to get back his youth by giving him a hair piece to cover his bald patch.

Viewers said "he'd gone from 40+ back to 29" and called him a "handsome man".

Rob also helped another lad, Ashley Tawney, to regain his confidence by fixing his receding hairline with a hair system.

Ashley was reduced to tears when he saw himself in the mirror and didn't even recognise himself
