It's the big Christmas Day debate – and it causes more arguments within families than what to watch on TV.

There's something for everyone in a festive tub of chocolates.

They taste even better when supermarkets go to war with each other over prices throughout November and December.

We can't get enough once the plastic lid is peeled off – but, of course, there is always one we just can't stomach.

But before you yell 'Bounty' – or 'don't you dare say Bounty' – let's take a look at some facts, shall we?

A YouGov poll has confirmed once and for all who is right and who is wrong.

We get the feeling the debate will still rage in the build-up to Christmas, regardless of these results!

Quality Street

There is an overwhelming winner with this one.

The Purple Ones goes quicker than any other chocolate in the pot, with 37% saying it is their number one.

The Green Triangle, at 27% comes a distant second, with the Caramel Swirl sitting just behind.

Sorry, Coconut Eclair fans. Just over ten per cent care enough to give them a mention.

Only 13% say that they are their favourites. In the bin!

Cadbury Roses

This one is tighter at the top. A lot tighter.

The classic Hazel in Caramel takes the glory – but only just.

The Golden Barrel and Hazel Whirl are marginally behind. Roses fans seem obsessed with nuts and soft caramel.

Brazilian Darkness was the most hated – and Roses reacted by getting rid.

Will the axe fall on the Caramel Bite, a soft caramel with small crispy pieces that taste of marzipan, or will it make it back this Christmas?

Celebrations

Love them or hate them, the Bounty bars are not top – but they're not bottom, either.

The most loved sweet in a Celebrations tub is the actually the Maltesers Teaser …and by a country mile.

Nearly 40% gave the nod to the tasty treat, with second spot going to the Galaxy bar.

The much-maligned Bounty finished fourth in the eight-choc table.

In final place is a classic – mini Mars bars came last, with only 15% naming it as one of their favourites.
