Ray J opened up about why he refused to go to marriage counseling with now-estranged wife Princess Love.

“I just felt like the counseling was more so a hustle and it wasn’t good … I felt like it would get one-sided,” Ray, 39, said on “The Real,” “but, hey, maybe we do need counseling.”

Co-host Jeannie Mai then asked the “One Wish” crooner if he’d ever consider going to therapy with Love, 36, now that he’s filed for divorce.

“Yeah, I mean, I would. I spent all weekend at the house with the kids and Princess and my mom and her friends and it was just a good vibe. It really was,” he explained. “I just had to fall back and go, ‘Damn this is a really, really, really good thing.’”

Ray then said he’d “be up for it” but implied the counseling would help smooth out any ramifications from their divorce rather than fix their marriage.

“I’d be up for whatever it is to make sure that my kids have a strong foundation and have both their parents in their lives 24/7,” he explained.

Page Six reported that the “Sexy Can I” singer decided to call it quits on the marriage because they both decided they didn’t want to be married anymore.

“They’re hoping that it’ll be super friendly,” a source close to the former couple told us.

He asked for joint custody of their kids, 2-year-old daughter Melody Love and 9-month-old son Epik Ray.
