Since their move to Los Angeles, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry have been living a very low-key life. Aside from some volunteering stints with local organizations amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and some Zoom call appearances with some U.K. charities, the Sussexes have stayed out of the spotlight.

The couple and their young son, Archie Harrison, are reportedly living in media mogul Tyler Perry‘s $18 million Beverly Hills mansion. Though they have been quarantining and practicing social distancing, Meghan was finally able to see her mother, Doria Ragland for Mother’s Day, and they reportedly have grown close with singer Adele, who lives five minutes away from them.

The duke and duchess celebrated their second wedding anniversary on May 19 and the duke got his wife the absolute sweetest gift.

The Duke is particularly proud to be able to deliver an exciting new initiative, a Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy three-country partnership which he designed and consulted with Governments in Namibia, Botswana and Angola to protect forest and wildlife corridors around the Okavango Delta. The Duchess will be working with local organisations to promote women and girls’ health and education, entrepreneurship and leadership. With such a textured culture and history, Their Royal Highnesses are grateful for the opportunity to connect with those on the ground in Southern Africa and to be inspired by the work being done and learn how they can be better supported. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are closer than ever

Amid Megxit and their move to the United States during a global pandemic, Meghan and Prince Harry have faced more than their share of challenges this year. However, the adversity and constant criticism that they’ve faced as a couple and individually has only strengthened their bond with one another.

The pair are still very much smitten and in love with one another. “So much has happened for Meghan and Harry, but I’m told by a source very close to them that all of the experiences, the challenges, the obstacles of 2019 and 2020, have really made them even closer,” royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight.

Despite everything that has happened, being outside of the royal bubble has really allowed the Sussexes to slow down and connect with one another. “One of the things I was told by a friend of the couple’s is that they actually are enjoying the slightly slower pace,” Nicholl said. “They are busy and they are doing quite a lot behind the scenes, but you know, this is a couple that tends to operate 100 miles per hour. I think they’re enjoying the lockdown and the fact that they’ve been able to take a bit of a breather.”

This evening, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the annual #WellChildAwards in London. WellChild aims to ensure every child and young person living with serious health needs has the best chance to thrive with the support and medical care needed in the comfort of their own home. The Duke of Sussex became Patron of WellChild in 2007, and last year both The Duke and Duchess attended the awards to honour the children and families that WellChild supports. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated their anniversary with a day off work

Though their second wedding anniversary fell on a Tuesday, the Sussexes still made it a special day. The duo took the day off work to celebrate with their son, Archie.

“The day will simply be quality time with one another and as a family,” a source close to the couple told Harper’s Bazaar. “They’re not going to be doing any work and made sure they have no meetings or calls in the diary. Like everyone else, they are in lockdown at the moment, so they will just be hanging out together at home. But it will still be a lovely day.”

Inside Prince Harry’s romantic anniversary gift for Meghan Markle

Though they kept things low-key, the couple still exchanged gifts to mark their special day. “Meghan designed Harry’s card, and hand wrote a beautiful, sentimental message inside expressing her love for him,” an insider told US Weekly. “Harry surprised Meghan with a huge, stunning bouquet of roses and a ring, which she loves.”

The ring is super important. According to Harper’s Bazaar the prince worked wth renowned jeweler Lorraine Schwartz to create a bespoke conflict-free diamond eternity band. It includes birthstones for himself, Meghan, and Archie on the underside of the piece.
