Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall has been a working royal since she married into the Royal Family. She will regularly appear beside her husband for engagements and events as well as sometimes on her own. What is the couple’s body language like when in public?
The royal is patron to more than 100 organisations, meaning she is kept very busy in her role.
The Duchess most recently visited The V&A in London to see the Royal Academy of Dance’s free display.
Camilla took on the role of Vice Patron of the Royal Academy of Dance last year from the Queen who had held the position since 1953.
Her most recent visit with Prince Charles was to Clapham Old Town where they visited various different organisations.
It came after their short trip touring Ireland.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, body language expert Judi James analysed the couple’s signals when they are seen in public.
She said: “Having witnessed one wife become a public icon who eclipsed him every time they appeared together, Charles seems to have chosen in his second a woman that he does not have to share or compete with.
“Camilla’s body language suggests a woman put on this earth to make Charles’s life more bearable.

“Her gestures show signs of support and flattery and her attentive signals are prompted primarily by Charles rather than the cameras or even their hosts.”
When together, Charles will often walk a little ahead of his wife, which according to Judi, suggests Camilla “is one half of a very equal royal double act”.
Judi explained: “Charles usually pulls rank when he appears with Camilla, walking and posing slightly ahead of her and rarely referencing her or communicating with her openly in a way that would suggest she is one half of a very equal royal double act.
“When they appear together it is very much Charles’s show that he is the star of.
“As a result of this one-sided balancing act Charles appears able to dress a little more flamboyantly; show a little more emotion; entertain more and to present a more confident image than he seemed to in the years when Camilla was not openly at his side.
“What the couple have are body language signals of togetherness that are now unique in the royal firm.
“William and Kate are like peas in a pod in terms of their power, status and performance signals and Sophie and Edward seem to have settled into a balance where Sophie tends to take the lead.
“The set-up might sound unfair and even old-fashioned in this era of sexual equality but all Camilla and Charles’s body language cues together suggest it suits them both perfectly.”
The expert explained how Camilla always has an air of “quiet caution” in public and her gestures often suggest “high levels of anxiety”.
Judi added: “She looks perfectly happy to have her husband take centre stage and to take her lead from him rather than raising her profile or stepping out of his shadow.
“This perfectly defines the kind of complementary relationship that might not be for everyone but which works for both Charles and Camilla.
“Any more intimate signals tend to be reserved for the kind of official photos they have taken for birthdays and anniversaries and in these we do get a glimpse of a much more openly fond relationship as Camilla relaxes and switches out of her more formal royal role.”
Although the Duchess should be Queen Consort when Charles succeeds his mother, it was previously announced the couple had decided against this title.
Camilla will still continue her royal duties along with Charles who will be King but will be known as Princess Consort.
Before the couple married, a statement from Clarence House read: “It is intended that Mrs. Parker Bowles should use the title HRH The Princess Consort when The Prince of Wales accedes to The Throne.”
