Even as adults we’re always learning and finding out new information.

Whether it’s why our bras have bows on them to how to scrub shower glass correctly.

Everyday is a school day.

And, an interesting discovery has been circulating online – and it's blown the minds of tequila fans.

If you’ve tried Sierra Tequila then you know the bottles, which usually cost around £15, have a tiny sombrero hat acting as a cap.

While most of us enjoy the novelty of the little cap it generally ends up in the bin.

However, over on Twitter, a social media user explained that the tiny sombrero actually has a purpose – and people love it!

Jack, who on Twitter is known as J4ckmull, said: “I was today years old when I realised the sombrero on top of the bottle of tequila was so you could salt your glass.”

It seems that the shape of the tiny hat allows you to fill it with salt and then dip your shot glass into the indent, reports the Mirror.

The rim of the glass will be coated in a light layer of salt.

Which is perfect for flavouring your tequila alongside a chaser slice of lime.

In the comments, Jack added: “Don't even lie, you know you all thought it was just a cute little sombrero for your bottle.”

Over 299 people retweeted the hack showing that there’s a lot of people who didn’t in fact know about the hat’s purpose.

And, thousands of people liked Jack’s post too.

Nicky noted: “Shut the front door!!! I didn’t know that. I thought it was just a little sombrero.”

While Ed Kelly added: “Whattt no this changes the entire game.”

A third person said: “I've been pouring salt onto my licked hand.”

And, another tequila lover commented: “Blew my mind.”
