Game of Thrones actress Maisie Williams left fans wondering who she was at first when taking to the steps of the Metropolitan Museum on Art on Monday evening for the much-anticipated return of the Met Gala.

The 24-year-old stepped out for her first time at the event wearing a black leotard with folded fabric edged with crystals over the top of a black mesh bodysuit which was also embellished and the whole look is giving us serious chic goth vibes.

The stylish outfit was by designer label Thom Browne and in an interview with E! News Maisie said how boyfriend Reuben Selby helped to design the Matrix inspired look.

As if that wasn't enough, the look was packed with added drama as it also compromised of a cascading train that followed the young actress.

The ensemble was without it's touch of sparkle as Maisie sported a diamanté necklace with a green pearl in the centre, along with a stunning ring to match.

The outfit was then finished off with a pair of chunky black heels and honestly, we're loving this look.

Maisie opted to change things up by bitching her blonde locks which we're so used to seeing for a quirky black up-do that was twisted and styled into a quirky bow.

Along with this, the star kept her bleached eyebrows and donned dark eyeshadow with a deep red lip, adding to the eeriness of the ensemble.

Of course she couldn't go without the finishing touch of giving her nails a Matrix makeover.

It seems that we weren't the only ones to love Maisie's look as fans swept to social media to praise her for the creative look.

One user posted saying: "maisie williams did not disappoint at the met gala."

As another followed with: "maisie williams literally ate the met gala up. i love her."

Maisie wasn't the only Game of Thrones cast members to grace the event as power couple Kit Harington and wife Rose Leslie also decided to show up.

Kit opted for a white tuxedo jacket and trousers by designer Saint Laurent, whilst Rose wowed in a bold and beautiful yellow tulle gown by Oscar de la Renta.

We don't know about you, but this is definitely a style battle that we don't want to get between as the on-screen siblings both showed up dressed in their best looks.
