“Glee” star Lea Michele has humorously addressed the odd rumor that she’s illiterate.

During a Broadway and Vine event in Napa Valley this week at Carneros Resort’s Hilltop Vineyard, the actress told the crowd — which included  25 students from local Vintage High School — “You don’t have to go to college to be in theater.”

In a video seen by Page Six, she added: “I didn’t go to college you guys, and look at me… There is a rumor online that I cannot read or write, which may have something to do with the fact I didn’t go to college.”

Michele has been plagued by the wild rumor since 2018, when Jaye Hunt and Robert Ackerman made a 40-minute video for their podcast, “One More Thing,” claiming she never learned to read or write.

They posited a number of theories, including that she didn’t have time because she was a child star in “Les Misérables” on Broadway. They also pointed out how many of her Instagram posts are captioned with only emojis and claimed that her assistant must be writing the ones that use sentences.

The pair also theorized that Michele only stars in Ryan Murphy productions, alleging that the producer feeds her lines because he knows her “secret.”

She has previously laughed off the rumors.

Our source at the event told us, “I can confirm she can read. Sheet music too.”

Later during the California concert, Michele asked the students, who are starring in their school’s production of “Mama Mia,” to come on stage and sing “I Have A Dream” with her.

Michele’s husband, Zandy Reich, was also in the crowd. The pair were married at the resort in 2019.
