Kate Middleton is known for being thrifty when it comes to her wardrobe and loves to repeat an outfit or rewear her favourite shoes.
Even though the Duchess of Cambridge is photographed more times than the average celebrity, she isn’t afraid of recycling her favourite designer pieces – sometimes more than once.
As if we our love for the mum-of-three couldn’t grow, knowing that she is one for trying to keep her outfits sustainable online makes us admire her more.
From her go-to favourites from designers Alexander McQueen and Emelia Wickstead, each time we see them they look brand new – and of course sophisticated as ever.
Here we take a look back at some of Kate’s best repeats…
Emelia Wickstead tartan dress
Kate and Prince William joined frontline workers from NHS Tayside in Dundee, Scotland to celebrate Burns Night.
Taking to yet another digital appearance, the mum-of-three was dressed to impress for the occasion in a stunning tartan dress with crisp white statement collar from Emelia Wickstead, proving this print isn’t just for Christmas.
The bold dress was originally worn in 2019 when Kate and her family attended the royal Christmas lunch.
Alexander McQueen khaki tailored coat
Throughout her time in the public eye, one thing we can agree on is that Kate is the queen of chic coats.
No matter their colour or style, the beautiful brunette always dresses appropriately for the occasion.
Arriving at London Euston Station in December to embark on their royal tour of the British Isles, Kate arrived in a military inspired khaki coat, one again from much loved brand Alexander McQueen.
We had seen the coat before in January 2020 when her and William made a public appearance in Bradford to meet the people of the city.

Kate is never one to shy away from bold colours and prints, so when we saw her bring back this red Alexander McQueen coat whilst on the royal tour in December 2020 we were overjoyed.
The Duchess had very recently wore the coat in October 2020 as she attended a public appearance at London Waterloo station to launch the Hold Still exhibition.
Gucci purple blouse
Just like us, throughout 2020, the royals have had to convert a lot of their appearances to digital ones.
Being the professional that she is, Kate rose to the challenge and gave everyone a lesson in how to dress from the waist up.
In November Kate took questions from the public and answered them in a video call where she wore this gorgeous purple Gucci blouse.
We were so happy to see this gorgeous shirt make a comeback as when Kate first wore it back in 2019 when she visited the Henry Fawcett Children’s Centre on March 12, 2019 we immediately fell in love with it.
Jimmy Choo glitter heels
For a date night with Prince William, Kate Middleton donned a black custom Eponine tweed dress paired with her £525 silver glitter Jimmy Choo heels that she first wore last year on the BAFTAs red carpet with a white one-shoulder Alexander McQueen dress. She later wore them again at a charity gala with a cream off-the shoulder dress.

When Kate wore this off-the-shoulder Alexander McQueen floral dress for the BAFTAs in 2017, she looked incredible forgoing stiff royal tradition to bare her shoulders. But to give the outfit a refresh, the royal added a custom alteration for a trip to the National Portrait Gallery by adding capped sleeves.
Emilia Wickstead chic dress
Kate wore this Emilia Wickstead purple dress on two separate occasions, once in 2017 on a royal visit to Germany. It appears that because she liked it so much, she got it in green too for a trip to the Anna Freud Centre of Excellence in May 2019.
Alexander McQueen tartan coat
Kate has made good use of her Alexander McQueen tartan coat which she first debuted at a hockey game, before repeating it in 2013 for Christmas at Sandringham. Kate most recently wore the smart tailored piece for a visit to Dundee V&A museum with her husband William.
Alice Temperley black lace
The Duchess has worn this black lace Alice Temperley dress on three occasions, keeping the styling very similar each time, with slight accessory tweaks. The first outing was at a dinner for St Andrews University, and the second was for the royal premiere of War Horse, both in 2012. A third outing for the glamorous gown came in 2013 when Kate attended the screening of David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum Alive 3D.
Alessandra Rich polka dot
This was an extremely popular look from Kate, so much so that it filtered down to the high street with plenty of similar styles available on a budget. The Duchess first wore the long sleeved polka dot design for a royal portrait celebrating Prince Charles’ 70th birthday, before recycling it for a trip to Bletchley Park.
Jenny Packham blush pink
This blush pink Jenny Packham gown was one of Kate’s best wardrobe moments as she stepped out wearing it for the Annual ARK Gala Dinner in 2011 and recycling it again to attend a gala dinner to support East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices’ Nook appeal.
Alexander McQueen white and gold gown
Kate reached deep in her wardrobe archives to follow the sustainability rule for the red carpet at this year’s BAFTAs as she wore a white and gold Alexander McQueen gown that she first wore back in 2012 for a state dinner in Malaysia.
LK Bennett dress
Kate’s white LK Bennett dress with blue floral applique sold out within a matter of minutes when she first wore it in 2014 and was extremely popular when she donned it for a second outing in 2016.
Eponine blue coat
Kate first wore this smart Eponine London dress coat to the Child Bereavement UK Centre in January of 2017 and brought it out again to visit Quarry View in Barnsley in November 2018.
