A woman sick and tired of her night being ruined by men decided to open a female-only club.
Teddy Edwardes opened the nightclub ‘LICK’ in London so women could dance the night away and let their hair down hassle-free.
The influencer, who goes by @TeddyEdwardes on TikTok, shared stories of hassle and harassment she has experienced while out clubbing.

These experiences are why she decided to create the safe space venue.
Tyla reported a 2017 survey found 63% of women aged 18-24 experienced harassment on a night out – almost 80% say they expect it to happen.
In one of her posts, Teddy claimed a man ruined her night out for the last time six years ago.
She continued: "And I created a women-only night club. It's now the biggest in the country with 2,000 women a night."
She previously told Buzzfeed: "I started LICK because I just had enough of going to straight clubs and every single time having some sort of issue with men.
"The final straw that broke the camel's back was: I walked into my friend's album label launch in Shoreditch and within seconds, a man grabbed my ponytail and pulled me backwards across the club all the way to the bar because he 'wanted to buy me a drink'."

Since its opening, the club has been a huge hit, with women sending in positive messages claiming LICK was been ‘life-changing’ to them 'either via feeling safe, representation, finding partners, new friends'.
Teddy says the first few years were a struggle and she was barely breaking even – her partner even urged her to give up on the idea but she was determined.
Her hard work paid off and the idea has been celebrated online.

Commenting on her video, one person wrote: "I can just imagine the bathroom chats… LOVE."
While another said: "As a mother of three girls one who will be 18 in a couple of years I back this 100%."
And a third added: "Honestly your clubs look amazing. My night out got ruined a few weeks ago by two men so maybe one day I’ll come to your club haha."
