Gary Lineker, 59, has had a successful career in both football and the television industry. He started his career at his home town club Leicester City after leaving school in 1977, turning professional in 1978. He is well known for presenting Match of the Day now, but how much has he earned throughout his career?
Gary has played for the likes of Leicester City, Everton, Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur.
Thanks to a successful career, Gary has amassed a huge fortune, even after taking a huge pay cut from the BBC.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, the retired footballer has a net worth of $35million, or £27million.
The recent data from the BBC showing the best-paid presenters puts Gary as its highest-earning star.
He earned a whopping £1.75million last year.
This equates to around £146,000 a month, £33,000 a week and a staggering £6,000 a day on top of other sources of income.

Gary moved to Everton after he started playing for Leicester City, later moving to Barcelona in 1986 where he scored 42 goals in 103 appearances.

He then moved to Tottenham Hotspur in 1989 where his transfer fee was said to be £2milllion.
After his 16 years in the football industry, Gary turned to television which would see him go on to be one of the most recognisable presenters.
He first joined the BBC hosting Match of the Day and appeared on several other shows like They Think It’s All Over.
He has presented BBC’s Match of the Day since 1999.
This year, Gary signed a five year contract with BBC Sport which will see him working for the company until 2025.
The deal saw him take a pay cut but his new salary still allows him to live a luxury lifestyle.
On the new deal, Gary said: “I love working with the BBC, and am very proud to continue to be a part of their outstanding football team.
“I’m looking forward to the next five years – with a European Championship and World Cup on the horizon, it’s exciting times for me and the team.”
He has also added to his bank balance by having a brand deal with Walkers crisps.
His brand deal with the popular crisp brand earns him a whopping £1million a year.
Gary also regularly writes columns for national newspapers.
In 2014, Gary set up his own company that makes sporting programmes such as Wayne Rooney: The Man Behind the Goals and Anthony Joshua: A Legend in the Making.
His successful production company also produces the likes of Being Kevin Pietersen.
In his personal life, Gary lives in Barnes, London which is in the upmarket borough of Richmond upon Thames.
Gary will be returning to the television screens tonight with his programme, Gary Lineker: My Grandad’s war, which sees him tracing his grandfather’s experience during the Second World War.
