Amy Hart has opened up about what happens behind the scenes in the Love Island villa, including what contestants do when they need to use the toilet.

The 29 year old, who starred on the hit ITV2 dating show back in 2019, has been answering questions from fans on TikTok, covering everything from what girls do if they get their period in the villa to the rules concerning naps.

The iconic villa is filled with cameras in every corner to ensure that producers don't miss a thing, leaving many Love Island fans wondering what happens when a contestant needs to use the toilet.

One viewer decided to ask Amy about the toilet rules, saying: "Do you have to wear mics when having a poo? my IBS could never xx," alongside a laughing face emoji.

The former Love Island star shared a video on TikTok responding to the question, and revealed that someone turns off contestants' mics when they go into the toilet, and it's strictly limited to one person at a time.

"They have someone watching and when you go into the toilet, they turn your mic off," Amy explained.

"But it's only one person in the toilet at any time. There is a camera in the toilet, but it is a security camera and it only gets looked at if something happened and they needed it."

She continued by saying how producers would only look at the security footage had something happened to an Islander while they were in the toilet.

Amy concluded: "So yeah, they don't listen to you weeing or pooing, and they don't watch you either."

The 29 year old's latest revelation comes after she recently opened up about napping in the villa, and explained the rules around sleeping during the daytime.

Speaking of the issue, Amy, who called herself “the nap queen”, explained: “You can nap in the afternoons outside. You can’t go inside for a nap but you can nap outside.”

However, with surprise eliminations regularly taking place, nap taking wasn’t all fun and games when it came to contestants attempting to make the most of their time in the villa.

“We would have slept all afternoon and then that night someone would have gone home.

“Then we’d be like ‘right, we’ve wasted our day. Oh my god this could’ve been our last day in the villa and we would’ve slept the whole day. That’s it, we’re never napping again. That’s it, we’re going to enjoy every minute’,” she said.

Amy then told how they would still end up napping again, adding: “Then the next morning, we’d get up and go outside and in 10 minutes we’d be like ‘so, we could nap in the morning and then enjoy the afternoon’.”
