ALDI is rolling out its Deliveroo home delivery service to 129 stores in total by the end of the year.

The speedy delivery sees customers order groceries online for same-day delivery – and it could arrive within 30 minutes.

Aldi has already expanded the service massively this month and currently offers it in 125 of its stores.

But another four shops will go live with Deliveroo in December, taking the total number to 129 supermarkets.

Shoppers in Nottingham were the first to test out the delivery when the initial trial was launched at the Daleside Road in May 2020.

This has since been increased to stores across the Midlands, Manchester, London, Liverpool and Brighton. Stores in Scotland and Wales also have the service now.

Stores getting Deliveroo in December:

  • Romford

The latest expansion includes stores in Scotland and Wales.

You can check if your nearest Aldi offers the service by checking our list in the box above.

Alternatively, you can enter your postcode into the free Deliveroo app, or on the Deliveroo website.

Items for home delivery are chosen and packed by Aldi staff in-store for delivery via Deliveroo’s network of riders.

Deliveroo is free to sign up to but it does charge a delivery fee, which can vary by retailer and how far you live from the businesses that you're ordering from.

To order groceries from Aldi, you'll be charged £4.99 per order and there's a minimum spend of £15.

Individual product prices will vary via Deliveroo compared to in store, which means you could end up paying more for the luxury of not leaving your home.

Aldi doesn't currently offer online grocery deliveries, although in April it launched a £23.99 essentials home delivery food box containing 22 items including tinned soup, rice and pasta.

You can also order some of Aldi's Specialbuys online, which vary weekly from gardening products to homeware, as well as alcohol.

In addition, Aldi has a click and collect service which will be expanding to 200 stores by Christmas.

Through click and collect, customers place an order online which is then picked and packed by shop staff.

When it's time to collect your order, staff will bring out your bags – which are already packed – to your car.

Aldi first started trialling click and collect in September 2020 with the service costing between £3.99 and £4.99 depending on the day and time selected, along with a £25 minimum spend.

Richard Thornton, communications director at Aldi UK, said: “We’re finding customers really value having more ways to shop at Aldi, particularly at the moment.

“That’s why we’ve been keen to extend our trial with Deliveroo to stores in more new areas, and plan to launch our trial of click and collect in more than 200 additional stores between now and Christmas.”

Ajay Lakhwani, vice president of grocery and commercial partnerships at Deliveroo, said: "We are delighted that Aldi’s trial with Deliveroo is expanding to almost 130 stores.

“Deliveroo’s on-demand grocery partnerships have proven vital for so many people during this difficult period, allowing families to get the food and household items they need and want quickly.”

In more Aldi news, the discounter has just launched a new range of gastro food and it's half the price of M&S.

Aldi has also released its Christmas advert 2020, which showed Kevin the Carrot battling to get home.

The supermarket recently managed demand for Kevin the Carrot toys by using a Glastonbury ticket queuing software on website.
