BUYING a house can be a stressful process, especially when you consider how much more you’ll have to spend to get it looking just the way you want it to.

And when one couple moved into their new house, they quickly realised they would have to do a lot of the renovations themselves.

“When we moved in we didn’t have any savings,” they explained in a minute-long video showing their back garden.

Initially, the space was completely empty, with just dirt on the ground instead of grass.

In a second image, Jonathan could be seen posing outside with one foot resting on a digging fork while drinking what appeared to be a bottle of beer.

Another snap saw him posting with two thumbs up after having managed to install some tiles. They placed some outdoor furniture, including a glass table and four chairs.

They then fast forward to when they laid their new turf onto the ground, explaining: “So we found some old turf in a skip which became our lawn”.

After taking good care of with regular sessions of watering the space, the turf quickly regained life, becoming greener by the day.

Eventually, it filled out the entire space and slowly, they began plotting to bring in landscapers and turn their garden into their dream outdoor setting.

“Then a year later we had the garden landscapes…” they wrote.

They brought in a digger to remove the grass on one side as well as the back, where they put in tiles.

Once done, they put their rattan furniture in the corner, where they could enjoy the sun, and installed some lights for the evenings.

Viewers were left impressed with the transformation and took to the comments section to share their thoughts.

“That’s gorge. Looks so much better when people use real grass instead of that artificial stuff,” one person wrote.

Another said: “Looks lovely guys, congratulations,” as a third commented: “proper garden that! Shows that you don’t need savings to achieve the dream!”

And when one person asked: “Is your original turf the same as at the end?” TikTok user @jonathankirby2 replied: “It is indeed!”
