During the three-day tour, King Charles and Queen Camilla will undertake official engagements in Berlin and in Brandenburg before heading to Hamburg. The Queen Consort arrived at Berlin airport wearing a very elegant midi dress and a matching hat.

She recycled her blue Bruce Oldfield dress which she combined with a chic hat by designer Philip Treacy.

For accessories, the monarch donned knee-high boots, a black handbag and a pair of gloves, and chose a very special brooch to finish her outfit.

Camilla sported a brooch featuring turquoise gem stones which belonged to the late Queen and was gifted to her by Queen Mary on her confirmation in 1942.

The royal state visit to Germany comes after King Charles postponed a trip to France earlier this month due to ongoing political protests.

Royal fans took to social media to praise Queen Camilla’s look in Germany with Instagram user @from.birkhall.with.love saying: “Our Queen looks gorgeous in blue!”

Another one, @sarah_duchessofyork_supporters, commented: “Doesn’t Camilla look lovely today?!” and @paolacart_ simply said: “Absolutely wonderful.”

Royal watcher @cutiienina opined that the Queen looked “so pretty in that blue” and @danieriddell1985 added: “Lovely colour on Queen Camilla!”

On Twitter, @jomillewe commented: “The King is looking wonderful and Queen Camilla looks absolutely resplendent!”

Royal fan @nocontxtcamilla said that Queen Camilla looked “stunning in turquoise” for their arrival in Germany.

The trip to Germany is King Charles’s first overseas state visit as monarch and he and Camilla were welcomed at the airport today with a gun salute and a military fly-past.

The couple were later greeted by German president Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife, Elke Budenbender, at a Brandenburg Gate.

A state banquet at the president’s official residence, Schloss Bellevue, will take place tonight.

Ahead of the trip, the president of Germany said: “To him and obviously all Britons, I want to say that we in Germany, in Europe, wish for close and friendly relations with the United Kingdom even after Brexit”.

King Charles will address the Bundestag, Germany’s parliament, on Thursday and he and the Queen Consort will visit St Nikolai Memorial, in Hamburg, on Friday.

Buckingham Palace said in a statement that the state visit is also “a chance to look forwards and show the many ways our countries are working in partnership, whether that be to tackle climate change”.

It will also be an opportunity to “respond to the conflict in Ukraine; seize trade and investment opportunities or share the best of our arts and culture”.
