THERE'S NOTHING worse than a blocked toilet, but it turns out there's an easy way to sort the problem and you probably already have it in your kitchen cupboards.

After one woman's three day long nightmare fans of cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch shared the best way to get everything running smoothly.

The woman posted on the Facebook group Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It: "I have a blocked toilet (three days) I’ve tried washing liquid, bicarbonate soda, vinegar, long sink tool, Industrial unblock liquid.

"My toilet pipe bends round to soil pip. The block is there."

Since she'd exhausted loads of the common fixes already, the homeowner didn't know what else to do besides call a plumber for a hefty fee.

Luckily, the cleaning fans had the perfect solution to the problem – cling film.

"The cling film trick should work for this," one keen cleaner suggested.

A second agreed: "Just use cling film."

It turns out all you need to do it cover the toilet bowl in a few layers of cling film, enough to make it airtight.

Then, once it's secure, you can flush the loo a couple of times until an air bubble forms.

Push the air bubble back down the toilet and the pressure should free the blockage.

If you don't already have cling film stocked up in your kitchen you can grab some for as little as 70p, making this trick a lot cheaper than the alternative.

Meanwhile, other cleaning fans suggested using a mop with a plastic bag over the head.

"Have you put a sealed plastic bag over the top of a mop head, or even toilet brush and plunged it up and down? Works every time," they wrote.

"Agreed has never failed me," someone else agreed.

It turns out the woman ended up using the mop trick to get rid of the blockage.

She raved: "Omg!!! It worked, the bag over toilet brush, I can’t thank you enough.

"I’ve been so stressed thinking it would cost me!"
