While cutting costs over the course of the pandemic, a handful of stores and brands decided that plus-sizes would be the first to go — a move that definitely feels like five steps back when it comes to making fashion an inclusive industry. But, not every brand is shrinking its selection: Misha Nonoo, which is famous for its trusty, tailored items and capsule wardrobe, is actually expanding its sizes, now releasing its must-have pieces in plus up to a 4XL.

"We're thrilled to be launching our capsule wardrobe in extended sizes, and thereby providing even more dynamic women with a tailored, timeless wardrobe, so they can spend less time getting dressed in the morning and more time conquering their busy days," Nonoo told InStyle via email. "We introduced our first plus-size style, the 9 to 9 Shirt, at the beginning of 2020 as a test, to slowly introduce ourselves to the plus-size customer and receive customer feedback. The style has consistently been a best seller, with an incredibly low 3% return rate in the plus sizes."

The best part about Misha Nonoo's designs is that they're extremely versatile and timeless. Whether we're talking about the crisp Husband Shirt or the sleek Kiki Pant, these are items that can easily be dressed up or down depending on plans, and will likely stay in your wardrobe for years, making the purchase a good investment. There's also the small fact that the brand has celebrity approval — including Nonoo's pal, Meghan Markle, who has been wearing her clothing for years.

According to the designer, it took 12 months to perfect the plus-size pieces, developing new patterns and construction while working with models and the plus-size community to ensure the fit was exactly right. And no, it's not lost on Nonoo that while her brand was hard at work, many others were heading in the opposite direction.

"Many brands have recently decided to cut sizes from their offering as a result of COVID-19 budget restraints, which unfairly deprives so many women of options for their wardrobe," she says. "All women, regardless of size, deserve access to a flattering and sustainable capsule wardrobe that empowers them to approach every day with confidence. Many of us are starting to slowly transition back into the office, or are just craving to 'dress up' again, so we're very proud to be offering our most-loved styles to this inspiring set of women who are keen to refresh their professional wardrobes. Our environmentally friendly, on-demand production model has put us at an advantage, and allowed us to continue expanding our offering and still encourage more inclusivity in the industry, even during unpredictable times."
