The Obamas are living it up in Hawaii! Barack and Michelle Obama were photographed hitting the waves for a kayaking session in their swimsuits on Dec. 22.

Barack Obama, 59, and his wife, Michelle Obama, 56, are vacationing in Hawaii for the holidays. The couple enjoyed some fun in the sun — WHICH YOU CAN SEE IN PHOTOS HERE — while out on the water on Dec. 22. Michelle wore a bright orange, one-piece bathing suit, and had her natural curly hair fully on display while she paddled the pair’s kayak through the bright blue water.

The former First Lady was makeup-free for the excursion, and her skin was glistening in the hot Hawaii sun. Meanwhile, Barack looked cool and casual while shirtless in his own swimsuit. He went somewhat incognito by wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap, as well. The couple’s daughters, Malia Obama, 22, and Sasha Obama, 19, were not present for the kayak session, but it’s expected that they’re also in Hawaii to spend the holiday with their parents.

Of course, the family had plenty of time to bond while spending time together in 2020 due to the coronavirus. In the early days of the pandemic, the family quarantined together — and Malia’s British boyfriend, Rory Farquharson, joined them, too. “There was this whole visa thing and he had a job set up, so we took him in,” the former president explained earlier this month. “I didn’t want to like him, but he’s a good kid!”

After the strict quarantine regulations were lifted, Michelle and Barack had a busy few months as they campaigned for Joe Biden. All of their efforts paid off, too, as he was elected president following the Nov. 3 election, beating out Donald Trump. Following a hectic time on the campaign trail, Barack and Michelle most definitely deserve this Hawaii getaway for the holidays!

Over the years, the Obamas have spent quite a bit of time in Hawaii. During Barack’s eight-year term as president (from 2008 until 2016), the family rented the Plantation Estate in Kailua for their Christmas vacations. Barack was also born in Hawaii and moved back there to attend middle school and high school.
