Meghan Markle: How to recreate Duchess’ look for less

Meghan Markle, 39, and Prince Harry, 36, took time over the weekend to honour Black History Month by surprising fans over the weekend. The couple showed their support for Get Lit, a literary group that describes its work as empowering youth and emboldening communities.

The non-profit organisation teaches children English and Drama in schools across the United States.

In the video call, Meghan said: “In a year that has been universally challenging for everyone, I’m inspired by the stories of compassion in our communities.

“Across the country, people have put their own needs aside to come together and support the collective well-being of those around them.”

For the occasion, Meghan opted for a casual look with an unbuttoned shirt.

Shirts are a staple in the Duchess’ wardrobe and she has worn them on several occasions.

For the call, she went for a powder blue shirt.

Meghan opted to keep the first few buttons of the shirt undone, revealing her chest.

She added her special necklace to the look, dedicated to the couple’s son, Archie.

The bespoke ‘A’ necklace has been worn by Meghan several times and is made by Australian jeweller, Emma Swann.

The £328 piece is 18k gold and she first wore it to Wimbledon back in 2019.

The designer of the necklace told People that she sent Meghan a necklace with a ‘H’ on it for Prince Harry and an ‘M’ on it, which she never wore publicly.

An ‘A’ initial was sent to Meghan when Archie was born and she has added it to a number of outfits since.

The jeweller added that her brand’s commitment to sustainability could be a reason why it is so sentimental to the Duchess.

Meghan takes a big interest in sustainable brands and will often recycle outfits to promote sustainability.

For hair, Meghan went for a middle parting with her dark locks styled in beauty waves.

The Duchess kept her makeup simple like always and went for a bronzed look with a strong highlight.

Her brows were strong and defined with a glossy lip to finish the look.

Fans took to Twitter to share their excitement for the couple’s appearance.

One person wrote: “Meghan looks so well!”

Another said: “I’d be so excited if she joined my class randomly!”

Meghan’s last public appearance was in December when she made a surprise appearance on a CNN heroes special.

For the occasion she wore a stunning nude blouse with an unusual neckline.

The satin number was a Tory Burch piece that retails for around £300.

She added her Cartier love bracelet to the look.
