MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry need footage with the Queen for their Netflix show 'to boost their lucrative but waning status as royals', an expert has said.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be attending the Queen's Jubilee celebrations next month.

The royal pair will be sharing the intimacies of their new California lifestyle in an upcoming docuseries, but they had hoped to use footage of the Queen's Jubilee to garner attention.

Royal expert, Tom Bower, has said that the Sussexes are currently missing "intimate shots" with Her Majesty.

Writing in The Sun he said: "Netflix cameras have followed them to New York and Holland for the recent Invictus Games.

"What’s missing are intimate shots of the Sussexes with the Queen. Hollywood surely needs that proximity to justify the huge budget.

"And the Sussexes need the shots to boost their lucrative but waning status as royals."

This need for shots threatens to disrupt the Jubilee.

Sussexes’ absence from Jubilee celebrations would have left many ‘mortified’

Should Meghan and Harry have decided not to attend the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations next weekend, they would have left “everybody mortified”, according to a royal biographer.

Andrew Morton, the author of the new biography The Queen, told Express.co.uk: “The Sussexes are attending the family events.

“Is it an olive branch? Yes, I think everybody would have been mortified if they had stayed in California.”

He added this would have been the case in particular because the Duke of Sussex visited the monarch in April.

“Harry had made a flying visit to see the Queen to Holland on his way to the Invictus Games”, Mr Morton said.

Meghan should 'give comfort and reassurance’ to father Thomas

Royal expert and author Tom Bower says the Duchess of Sussex should visit her father after he suffered a severe stroke.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain, the biographer said: “What we do know, is that Meghan has always said that she is a very compassionate person.

“And if compassion was at all necessary right now, it would mean that she would go to her father’s bedside – about two and a half hours drive south from where she lives – and give him some comfort and reassurance.”

Meghan braced for ex-husband to unveil ‘remarkable’ tale

A royal expert has claimed that Meghan Markle is bracing herself for her ex-husband to reveal the “remarkable story” of their past relationship in a new tell-all book.

Tom Bower, a British author, is writing new book and will reportedly include interviews with Trevor Engelson, the Duchess ex-husband.

Royal expert Neil Sean said “a lot of people” could have “an axe to grind” to tell their side of the story.

On his YouTube channel, Sean speaks about Engelson and adds: “This particular individual would truly have a remarkable story because, after all, he would have first-hand experience of what it was like, yes what it was like, to be married the first time around to the actress from Suits.”

Meghan Markle ‘nagged’ ex-husband for TV roles

Meghan Markle’s ex-husband Trevor Engelson was “continuously nagged” by her for TV roles to boost her acting career, a royal author has suggested.

Neil Sean has said Trevor could have “an axe to grind” as “we only know her version of events.”

Express.co.uk reports that Mr Sean stated on his YouTube channel: “Trevor’s story itself is remarkable because he’s never spoken on the record about his time with Meghan Markle.

“When you think about it, you read the stories, if you believe them, the way that she just wanted to collect the food mixer, or the blender, posted back his ring, that sort of stuff, there’s two sides to every story and of course, we only know her version of events”.

The Duchess of Sussex is the subject of Tom Bower’s forthcoming book and questions have been raised over whether her first husband, who she first started dating in 2004, will feature.

Meghan Markle’s mother Doria should attend Jubilee celebrations

Express.co.uk reports that commentator Martin Townsend suggests it is possible Doria could appear at particular Jubilee events open to the wider family if she is joining the Sussex family in the UK to help babysit Archie and Lilibet.

Mr Townsend, senior specialist partner at Pagefield communication, stated: “I think it’s possible.

“They are coming with their children who are still very young.

“Who knows what arrangements Meghan and Harry may have made, but in the past Meghan’s mother has been involved, so I wouldn’t be at all surprised.”

George and Charlotte could fill Harry and Meghan’s ‘charisma vacancy’, claims royal expert

Express.co.uk reports that Cele Otnes, co-author of Royal Fever: The British Monarchy in Consumer Culture, suggests that, after the Sussexes stepped back from their royal duties, there was an absence of “charisma”.

The term “charisma vacancy” features in Tina Brown’s book The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor, and argues that the Royal Family’s charisma quota was once filled by Diana.

She comments that since Megxit, the position has been filled by William and Kate’s children who have frequently displayed their personalities.

Daily Mail diary editor Richard Eden said: “As she looks forward to her Platinum Jubilee celebrations next week, Her Majesty may have been relieved to hear that her grandson Prince Harry’s memoirs could have been put on hold.

“The book, which is likely to be explosive and has caused much nervousness among courtiers, still does not have a publication date, even though it was expected to be released later this year.”

Mr Eden also noted that the lack of publication date is highly unusual in the book world, and has therefore sparked speculation that the project has been delayed.

Where will Harry & Meg stay during Queen’s Platinum Jubilee?

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is a highly anticipated period in the calendar because of its historical significance, and because the celebrations will coincide with a much needed break for many.

As festivities take place across the UK to celebrate the 96-year-old’s seventh decade on the throne, Brits will also be relishing an extended weekend.

The late May Bank Holiday has been moved to June 2 to make it a four-day weekend running from Thursday, June 2, to Sunday, June 5.

Harry and Meghan, who have relocated to California, will return to the UK to celebrate the occasion.

The couple are expected to stay in their first family home, Frogmore Cottage, situated in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

Despite living in a £11million house in Los Angeles, the Sussexes continue to lease the property, which was their home before their move Stateside.

Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie, and her husband Jack Brooksbank currently occupy the property with their son, August.

The expectation is that she will open up the guest bedrooms to accommodate the couple when they arrive in the UK.

Harry previously stayed at the cottage in April 2021, when he returned from the US to attend the funeral of his grandfather, Prince Philip.

Student speaks of ‘pleasure’ at seeing her Platinum Jubilee emblem ‘everything’

The student who designed the official Platinum Jubilee emblem has said it is a “pleasure” to see his creation on everything from London buses to chocolate bars and coins.

Graphic design student Edward Roberts, from Southwell, Nottinghamshire, also said he feels “honoured” to have been invited to the official celebrations on the bank holiday weekend.

The 19-year-old’s design was selected as the winning entry in The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Emblem Competition, run by the Victoria & Albert Museum in conjunction with Buckingham Palace.

The logo is emblazoned across trains, champagne bottles, teddy bears and even deck chairs.

Souvenirs from the Royal Collection featuring the emblem, such as mugs, tea towels and umbrellas, have proven so popular that the merchandiser has temporarily suspended orders due to “unprecedented demand”.

Mr Roberts, who has just finished the second year of his graphic and communication design degree at the University of Leeds, said: “To see my design used throughout the country, and further afield, is a pleasure”.

Harry and Meghan face ‘public hostility’ for ‘cashing in’ on Jubilee

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may face “hostility” from Brits amid accusations from some Britons that the couple is using the Platinum Jubilee trip to “cash in”.

One Brit wrote to GB News this morning to argue that the pair were using the Jubilee to "top up their royal currency".

Express.co.uk reports that royal biographer Angela Levin was asked on GB News this morning whether this accusation could be true or not.

Ms Levin replied: "Well, the question is whether they will continue to use their royal status to make lots of money.

"I hope they don't but they have let us down when Harry was here to see the Queen briefly before the Invictus Games.

"He then almost immediately gave an interview to an American station and he was talking about the Queen and how she has to have the right people around her.

"These conversations with the Queen are meant to be private.

"Will they be private as the new report suggests or will they go back and have another discussion with Oprah or someone else that they have another grievance?"
