WITH fears about the cost of living crisis and rising energy bills, we’re all looking for cheaper ways to feed our families. 

Fortunately, one content creator has shared her recipe for a week’s worth of lunches for just £5. 


Mimi, known on TikTok as @beatthebudget, often shares her cheap and tasty recipes with her 43,000 followers. 

One of her most popular series is meal prepping five lunches for £5. 

In her latest video, the content creator can be seen creating five instant noodle bowls, using vermicelli noodles, white onions, spring onion, mushrooms, pak choi, miso paste, vegetable stock, soy sauce, and lime juice. 

Mimi shares the ASDA receipt for all the ingredients, which came to a total of £4.55.

She begins by chopping all the ingredients and dividing them between five Tupperware boxes. 

She places all the vegetables at the bottom, followed by the pak choi, noddles, and miso paste. 

When it’s time to serve, Mimi pours 400ml of boiling water over the noodles, adds one tablespoon of soy sauce, and cooks in the microwave for two minutes. 

Not only do they take 10 minutes to prep, but also cost just 91p per portion.
