WHETHER it's pastels, a vibrant red or the classic you can never go wrong with – black – we all have our favourite colours.

But according to one fashion expert, you might want to introduce other hues to your wardrobe, as there are some colours that make everyone look trashy.

Maria Popova, from Dubai, took to Instagram to list six colour combinations fellow fashion enthusiasts should opt for instead, claiming they'll instantly elevate any outfit.

The pro started off the video shared to her 111k followers with quite a classic combination that will never go out of style – white and beige.

Here, she demonstrated, you can either go with chic white bottoms and a beige top or a stunning white blouse paired with beige trousers.

Another expensive-looking duo is milk and brown – perfect for the more gloomy autumn months.

If you're a fan of milk hue garments but don't have anything brown to pair it with, Maria revealed you can also go for khaki – this earthy tone compliments the lighter shade and will do wonders to your outfit.

Khaki, she said, also looks elegant and expensive when styled with different shades of the same colour.

For those who enjoy wearing blue clothes, the fashion whizz suggested choosing to add some brown garments.

However, if you're someone who likes a pop of colour, don't be afraid to wear it – here, you can choose orange with grey.
