A FASHION pro has revealed that there are three things you must avoid this Summer if you want to look elegant, rather than tacky.
And it’s not looking good for those who have bought into the Birkenstock trend, as according to this fashionista, these sandals will instantly cheapen your look.
Amira Bessette, an elegance and etiquette coach, took to TikTok to share her thoughts on the summer items you need to ditch and the ones you should opt for instead.
When it comes to a beach bag, according to Amira, the trendy Marc Jacobs tote bag is totally tacky.
Instead, she advised people to opt for something a bit more sleek and elegant, in this case a Ralph Lauren large white beach bag.
For an evening bag, Amira explained that a Gucci crossbody bag with the Gucci logo plastered all over it is “tacky.”

Instead of this, the fashionista recommended a plain bag handbag, for a much more “elegant” look.
Finally, where shoes are concerned, if you recently got yourself a pair of Birkenstock sandals, you might want to cover your eyes.
According to Amira, such sandals are tacky and instead, she encouraged people to opt for a sleeker shoe.
She instead recommended the Hermes slip-on sandals, but don’t worry, if you can’t afford to splash the cash on these, you can nab a dupe pair from Primark, which look pretty much identical and are a fraction of the price.

Amira’s clip has clearly impressed many, as it has quickly gone viral and has racked up a staggering 6.1million views.
It has 291.8k likes, 2,665 comments, 27.6k saves and 912 shares.
However, social media users were stunned at Amira’s claims and many disagreed about Birkenstocks being a tacky shoe.
One person said: “Birks are not tacky..they are just comfortable!”
Another added: “Don’t you DARE call my Birkenstocks tacky. They are COMFY.”
A third commented: “Imma wear birks til the day i die.”
At the same time, one user noted: “Nothing is tacky, you just have to know how to style it elegantly.”
But to this, Amira responded: “Some items will ruin your entire elegant outfit.”
