Todd Chrisley is trying to be the bigger man in an increasingly out of control situation with his estranged daughter.

The 50-year-old reality TV star, indicted last week for financial crimes including tax evasion charges, is trying to keep his family together as best he can. And for the southerner and his wife, Julie, that means leading with forgiveness towards their estranged daughter Lindsie Chrisley.

As you’ll recall, Lindsie has been at odds with the famous fam ever since allegations surfaced about how her half-brother, Chase Chrisley, apparently purchased a sex tape involving the 29-year-old family member. Todd allegedly “wanted her to lie about an incident and if she refused to do so, they were going to release the sex tape involving her.” Yikes!

As to be expected, this caused a hell of a rift between the Chrisley Knows Best stars and their eldest daughter. Now, Todd is trying to close the gap on the estrangement, using his podcast to deliver a message of forgiveness.

Speaking alongside Julie on the couple’s Chrisley Confessions podcast this week, the TV mogul said (below):

“Now as far as our oldest daughter Lindsie goes, I will say to you that we are saying nothing other than that we love Lindsie. She will always be my daughter, that will never change, she is my first-born child. She is loved and this is her moment for her to say whatever she wants to say, regardless of whether or not it’s true or not. She is forgiven. She’s forgiven for what has happened in the last week-to-ten days, she is forgiven for what has happened in the investigation, that she has contributed to. She is forgiven for what she is going to do today or tomorrow.”

OK, wait a minute…

Let’s try to get this straight: the reality TV dad here was allegedly involved in a series of financial crimes, and to deflect some of the attention, he allegedly had his son purchase a sex tape involving the fam’s oldest daughter. Pops then allegedly held the tape over her head, reportedly threatening to release it unless she lied publicly to help take the heat off dad’s alleged financial misdeeds. She refused, and called him out for it. And now, the family patriarch is the one forgiving the daughter for what she “has contributed to” and she “is going to do today or tomorrow”???

For Lindsie’s part, the momma of one is still apparently devastated by the entire situation, saying recently on HLN Morning Express that she “will never forgive” the fam for what they’ve done to her. We can understand…

It may not matter much to her father, though. The reality TV leading man clearly stands by his feelings, thoughts, and decisions, best exemplified by how he concluded this very same podcast rambling about… Twitter (below):

“At the end of the day, I know what kind of parent I’ve been, I know what I do, I know what I say. I know also what I tweet and the messages behind those tweets. If you notice, we have not made any statements other than we love Lindsie and that we don’t understand it. At the end of the day, if I tweeted something in 2017, it would still be on my Twitter account and it is, I don’t take down anything that I tweet. Because if I tweet it, then I meant it and I have got the facts to back it up. So what I would say is, is that be careful about accusing me of something because there’s truth behind anything I’ve done … It is a shame that I have raised five children and that the jealousy and the greed and the backstabbing that has been exhibited towards a sibling is unconscionable. They’re going to be ashamed when something happens to each of them and then you can’t turn around say I’m sorry, because it’s too late. I’m going to finish this rant by saying I love all of my children.”

Uhhh, OK then!

Something tells us this is far from the last we’ve heard of the Chrisley controversy, y’all. How do you think this one will end up playing out??? Sound OFF in the comments (below)…
