Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are well known for portraying Thor and Valkyrie respectively in the MCU. In Thor: Ragnarok, the two boast palpable chemistry that effortlessly oozes from the silver screen; thus, it should come as no surprise that those behind Men in Black: International paired the actors once again for the buddy cop-esque, alien-themed reboot.
From Marvel masterpieces to (unfortunately) critically condemned remakes, one thing remains consistent when it comes to Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth: they seem to always have a good time. The two, evidently, have become quite good friends since appearing in Ragnarok and, as a result, have gotten to see sides of each other that the public isn’t lucky enough to bear witness to.
While promoting Men in Black: International, Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth sat down for an interview with E!. From discussing Thor and their latest franchise revitalization attempt to chatting about their personal relationship, it was easy to sense how comfortable the two were in each other’s presence; thus, it should come as no surprise that the interviewer asked Thompson to tell us a little something about Hemsworth that we may not know.
Tessa Thompson on what the public doesn’t know about MCU star Chris Hemsworth
During their interview with E!, Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson started off discussing their chemistry. While they work well together, they explained that they needed to find a new dynamic for Men In Black for, as Thompson put it jokingly, “Sometimes [they] had too much chemistry.” They were supposed to bear a dynamic reminiscent of the one between original Men in Black stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones and, at times, too much romantic love came through.
The interviewer then asked Thompson to “tell us something about Chris we don’t know.” Thomson replied, “I would say that he’s sensitive,” before looking at Hemsworth and saying “you are!” after he smirks in response. She also notes that “it’s cute.”
As for the man behind the God of Thunder, it may be reassuring for fans to know that he’s got quite the big heart and sensitive nature. Even the brawniest of men can have a soft side. Not to mention, when it comes to actors, the need to tap into various emotions is a must; you must be able to relate to others, and you’re likely to be more empathetic than non-actors. Thus, this characteristic shouldn’t come as a huge surprise when putting it into perspective.
When asked to tell E! And the viewers watching at home something we don’t know about Thomspon, Hemsworth jokingly responds, “she’s sensitive,” as to poke fun at the actress and her previous response. The two both laugh, as Tessa Thompson rolls her eyes.
While watching the interview, it becomes obvious that these two work across from one another with ease, and enjoy each other’s company immensely. It should be exciting to see them pair up once again for Thor: Love and Thunder, which will likely be Hemsworth’s last outing as the iconic hero.
