Tess and Claudia will be gracing our TV screens tonight ahead of the new series of Strictly Come Dancing.

In a candid interview, the former model opened up about her thoughts on her “double act” with Claudia.

Before hosting with Tess, Claudia presented Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two on weeknights on BBC Two between 2004 and 2010.

Tess first hosted the show alongside the late Bruce Forsyth until 2013.

“People can tell if you’re faking it – I can definitely tell when people are faking it on TV – and Clauds and I are really lucky because we have a genuine friendship,” she revealed.

“We’ve gone through so much together, it just feels right standing next to her. And she makes me die laughing.”

Tess went on to detail what typically happens for the two of them on a Saturday night after filming the programme.

“We’re always the last to leave on a Saturday night, because we’re still chatting about the show, sitting cross-legged on the dressing room floor, eating pizza.”

Last year, Tess also told the Mirror why she preferred not to watch herself on Strictly on Christmas Day.

After explaining she kept herself busy by doing the buffet, she added: “My mum and the relatives watch it, but I don’t want to see myself – I’d end up shouting at the telly going, ‘Oh God, I can’t stand my side profile!’

“I’d be looking at my broken nose and wishing it was straight.”

The mum-of-two also mentioned she’s very critical when watching herself on the TV screen.

Meanwhile, Tess recently gave her fans a sneak peek at the Strictly studio ahead of the launch this weekend.

The TV presenter decided to give her fans a little something to get excited about before this weekend’s opening episode as she shared a video on her Instagram story in view of her 519,000 followers.

Tess panned the camera around the studio, where the famous dance floor could be seen.

Fans could also see three individual podiums where the judges’ desk normally sits.

There will only be three chairs needed for this year’s series for Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas, as Bruno Tonioli will be filming the US version Dancing With The Stars in America instead.

Tess then shared a close-up snap of the podiums shimmering under the spotlights.

She wrote: “First day in studio today. Sneaky peek of the new judges podiums @bbcstrictly.”

This year’s celebrity line-up includes the likes of Maisie Smith, Jamie Laing and Nicola Adams.
