AJ Odudu, 33, shared a video on her Instagram Story today behind the scenes of her latest routine for Strictly Come Dancing with partner Kai Widdrington, 26. The TV presenter admitted she was “obsessed” with their performance so far, but it had resulted in some injuries, particularly for her Strictly professional who shared he was feeling pain in the groin area, which he compared to that of a spider bite

Speaking on camera, AJ said: “I’m obsessed with our dance routine, right, I’m so obsessed that I haven’t even whinged to you about how in pain I am, I’m like, ‘Listen, I’m gonna get that leg screwed on’. Feels like it is hanging off right now!”

Kai interrupted: “However, I’m in pain. I’ve been stood on multiple times, my legs have taken a battering. I can’t show you because it is PG, but it’s very much in the groin area, looks like I’ve been bitten by a spider.” he finished.

It comes after AJ was comforted by pro partner Kai during the latest episode of the BBC dancing series, as she burst into tears after their routine.

Amid weeks of romance rumours, which they have both downplayed and sparked more of, the couple proved they were a strong dancing couple yet again on Saturday.

They took on The Sound Of Music for Musicals week, and their routine was a Waltz to the track Edelweiss.

As the routine came to an end, the judges heaped praise on the pair after they received low scores the week beforehand – and AJ was soon in tears, with Kai quick to praise her.

As she joined host Claudia Winkleman with Kai, she shared her emotional reaction to the good feedback this time around, and revealed the dance was a thank you to the viewers who were sticking by them.

She said: “It’s just amazing, to get to open the show on Musical Week in front of all of these people, everyone who has supported us and kept us in for this week.

“It makes you realise I am enjoying this whole experience and I don’t want it to end, I just really enjoyed that.”

She added: “Last week we were so vulnerable and to have everyone at home voting for us, picking up the phone and taking the time to believe in us, it’s just amazing.”

AJ said she didn’t take the votes for granted, and wanted to do the latest dance for all of the people who voted for them.

Kai went on, praising AJ: “I was blown away by her, this girl works so incredibly hard. It’s a dream to be in rehearsals with her each day of each week.

“She deserves to be here and I think that dance showed that tonight, and it was my pleasure to dance with her.”

Meanwhile, as the pair have grown closer, with AJ often praising her dance partner, they’ve been put on the spot a number of times over speculation they are dating.

AJ recently shared that “nothing can top” the moment she met Kai for the first time, and their Strictly journey together began.

Speaking on The One Show earlier this month, AJ revealed the highlight of her time on the show ahead of next month’s final.

AJ said when asked for her Strictly highlight: “Oh my gosh, all of it. But I think nothing will ever top meeting Kai for the first time, us just getting on like a house on fire.

“And coming out on the Strictly ballroom, doing the Jive and I was so shocked with everyone’s positive comments like there’s no feeling like it. It was amazing.”

AJ also credits Kai for giving her the confidence to perform just days before the comments.

She said: “Thank you, thank you, and honestly thank you for putting your trust in me, we had to be bold and brave to do that dance routine.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs at 6:35pm on Saturday on BBC One, followed by the results show on Sunday evening.
