Anton du Beke has put on a chipper display as he arrived at a London studio to rehearse for this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing show.

The professional dancer, whose rival Jamie Laing recently said he'll propose to his girlfriend Sophie Habboo if he wins the show, was photographed walking down the street wearing a navy jumper over a light blue shirt.

The 54 year old teamed the look with a pair of dark trousers and black shoes as he carried a gym bag over his shoulder and flashed a massive smile for the camera.

Anton is paired with Home Secretary Jacqui Smith, who arrived on time wearing a pink hoodie and black leggings with a matching pair of pink trainers.

The 57 year old held onto a blue face mask, which had little sausage dogs printed on it, and styled her blonde hair back into a low ponytail as she headed into the studio.

Clearly ready to get rehearsals going, comedian Bill Bailey was also spotted on the scene with his pro dancing partner Oti Mabuse.

Bill, 55, wore an all-black ensemble, complete with dark trousers, a black top with a jacket on top as well as a flat cap. He donned a pair of black sunglasses that he put over his blue mask, which covered the majority of his face.

In an unexpected twist, the star appeared to be carrying a covered bird cage to rehearsals as 30 year old dancer Oti watched in bewilderment.

Oti, who recently celebrated her birthday with a lovely surprise, dressed casual for the day as she donned an oversized purple turtleneck jumper with black joggers and dark trainers.

The dancer carried her multi-coloured coat and had a striped bag as well as a tote slung over her two shoulders. Keeping the accessories to a minimum, Oti opted to wear her cat-style glasses alongside a pair of gold hoop earrings.

It comes as Oti's pal and co-star Anton recently opened up about his childhood, heartbreakingly revealing his father used to beat him with a belt.

He candidly told of how his father, Antal, was physically abusive towards him as a child and they “didn’t have a relationship”.

Speaking of his dad, who died in 2001, he explained to The Times: “He was the hard, eastern European type. Heavy drinker, heavy smoker.

“It was a different time and you'd have the belt taken to you and stuff like that. He'd just fly off the handle and he was always slightly aggressive anyway.”

However, Anton admitted his father was not abusive towards his mother or towards his siblings, as he bore the brunt of his dad’s anger.

Anton looked back at how he used to avoid his father as much as possible, as he continued: “There was always the moment when you came home and opened the front door thinking, ‘I hope he’s not home,’ and trying to avoid him, and not going into the room he was in because there was no benefit of being in the same room as him.”
