Shamed Strictly Come Dancing star Seann Walsh has denied “coercive control and gaslighting” in a new comedy show about his fall from grace.

The 33-year-old stand up is back in Edinburgh after he took last year off to go on Strictly where he was partnered with Katya Jones.

The pair then hit the headlines when Seann was photographed snogging married Katya behind the back of his girlfriend Rebecca Humphries.

In his new show, Seann talks about the chaos of the seven days after the photograph was made public, turning his life upside-down.

His now ex Rebecca also put out a statement where she claimed that during their relationship he had “aggressively and repeatedly” called her “psycho, nuts, mental” about her suspicions over his fidelity.

Defending himself and going off-script, Seann stopped the jokes in his show on Friday night and told the audience: “My ex-girlfriend posted a statement that goes viral and says that I psychologically abused her.

“I tried to ignore it. Since that statement it has escalated to gaslighting and coercive control.

“I have avoided talking about it and avoided defending myself and hoping it would go away.

“But it keeps coming back and I see and read things where my name is associated with those things.

“I don't know what else to do except to say I am not those things.

“I am a liar and a cheater but I am not a gaslighter. It is a weird defence I know, but I am just a s*** boyfriend.

“It is serious and I didn't mention it on my tour but I still see things and I don't know what to do, but I just need to say for my own sanity I am not those things.

“I went on Jonathan Ross and apologised for the hurt and pain I caused.

“At some point I need to defend myself.”

Whilst taking the blame for the fallout, Seann also admitted things got quite tough at one stage on Strictly and huge waves of support on social media he had before the snogging photo was published disappeared overnight.

He added: “I had thousands of people telling me how much they hated me.

“People were sliding into my DMs (direct messages on Twitter ) which is supposed to be for booty calls. I had people sliding into my Dms to tell me to kill myself.

“Loads of people telling me to kill myself. It is fine, I handled it, but it is not quite what I expected. I thought I was going onto the show to have a bit of a boogie.”

Ending the segment on a lighter note, he said finally with reference to ITV show I'm A Celebrity: “I did genuinely consider taking my own life…into the jungle.

“That is how dark s*** got. Don't worry I am not going to do that.

“I would only f*** that up as well and go in there and s*** a kangaroo!”
