This Morning host Phillip Schofield, 58, cheekily took aim at Piers Morgan, 55, in a not so subtle dig on Instagram. The ITV presenter attempted to “dispose” of the Good Morning Britain host’s latest project away from the morning programme.

It comes after Phillip recently released his latest book Life Is What You Make It – which gives readers an honest insight into his life and background.

Piers has also released his book to the masses entitled Wake Up: Why The World Has Gone Nuts.

While the presenters often cheekily banter about scooping awards for each of their respective shows, Phillip decided to take things one step further.

Taking to his Instagram stories, the dad-of-two shared a clip of himself putting one of the pages to Piers’ book down a sink waste disposal unit.

In view of his 3.2 million followers, Phillip had his autobiography placed on one end of the sink and Piers placed on the other side.

He captioned the post: “New @insinkerator_uk installed, amazing! Apparently, it will dispose of almost anything… @piersmorgan.”

In the second clip, the This Morning host ripped a page from the GMB host’s book to shred down the sink.

Phillip wrote: “Yup. A bit chewy but that works @piersmorgan,” followed by a laughing-face emoji.

It didn’t take long for the GMB presenter to get wind of Phillip’s cheeky move.

Fortunately, Piers saw the humorous side to the This Morning presenter’s cheeky swipe.

In view of his 1.3 million followers, the TV anchor reposted Phillip’s stories with the caption: “You can’t bury my surging sales @schofe.”

Their light-hearted back and forth comes after both presenter’s released their books earlier this year and it’s not uncommon for the pair to engage in on and off-screen banter.

Meanwhile, Phillip recently revealed he is almost at “breaking point” over what the British public will be able to do over the Christmas season.

With rates of coronavirus still rising throughout the UK, Health Secretary Matt Hancock, has announced which tiers each region of England will be put into ahead of Christmas as the country emerges from a second nationwide lockdown.

The television presenter expressed his frustrations over the restrictions people are living under.

Expressing his dismay, Phillip told Holly and guests: “I’m at breaking point and I’ve simply had enough.
