Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are undergoing a rebrand!

In case you missed it, Queen Elizabeth II threw a wrench in their plans when she vetoed the name “Sussex Royal” for their new charitable entity, forcing them to drop their trademark application, which was for the possible use on a “wide range of goods and services, from books to clothing and educational and charitable campaigns.”

Recent reports claimed the couple found a different moniker, Sussex Global Charities, after a website had been registered under The Shoebox Project Foundation, a charitable entity outlets believed belonged to Meg’s longtime BFF Jessica Mulroney.

In a statement via Twitter though, the momma of three completely denied the rumors on Sunday, revealing she never acted on the pair’s behalf:

“If certain investigative journalists were to do their jobs, perhaps they would see that Shoebox Project Foundation is owned by a Mr Roy in North Carolina and has no affiliations or ties to our charity The Shoebox Project. Happy Sunday.”

Whoops!!

This statement from the Canadian stylist comes after one straight from the Duke and Duchess’ office following the monarch’s decision, which cleared things up a bit more:

“While The Duke and Duchess are focused on plans to establish a new non-profit organization, given the specific U.K. Government rules surrounding use of the word Royal, it has been therefore agreed that their non-profit organization, when it is announced this Spring, will not be named Sussex Royal Foundation. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use ‘SussexRoyal’ in any territory post spring 2020.”

As previously stated by Archie Harrison‘s parents, they plan to continue using SussexRoyal.com as the official platform to work on expanding their brand, which they claim is not a foundation. Instead, they “intend to develop a new way to effect change and complement the efforts made by so many excellent foundations globally,” according to their website.

As we previously shared, an addendum was added to their initially published transition plans:

“The creation of this non-profit entity will be in addition to their cause driven work that they remain deeply committed to. While The Duke and Duchess are focused on plans to establish a new non-profit organization, given the specific UK government rules surrounding use of the word ‘Royal’, it has been therefore agreed that their non-profit organization will not utilize the name ‘Sussex Royal’ or any other iteration of ‘Royal.’”
