Martine McCutcheon has opened up about missing her late brother Laurence John "so much" but tells herself "she needs to carry on" after his sudden death.

The Love Actually actress, 46, posted a video of herself wearing a black dress as she strutted towards the camera as she spoke of how she is feeling since losing her brother.

Opening up on her grief, Martine wrote on Instagram: "You’ve got to Keep on keeping on right… Missing my baby brother in heaven so much, but it’s also such a busy time of year for me – And I need to carry on – And I’m doing it all in a puffball and sequins of course!

"I b***dy love winter fashion. Who’s with me on that? Sometimes it’s the little things that get you through!"

Martine ended the caption with a hashtag, which read: "#MissYouLJ."

Many flooded Martine's post with comments of support, with one writing to the star: "Sending you so much love you beautiful soul xx."

"Sending love. I lost my brother when I was 4 and he was 8yrs old but I have never forgotten him. All I do is try to live life as full as I can and enjoy it on his behalf," one began to write.

"Hope you will find a way to do that too. They never leave us we just carry them along for the ride inside. I also love Winter fashion too. Can't wait to get my sequins, glitter, satin and velvet out."

A third wrote: "You are looking amazing, he is with you the whole way babes forever in your beautiful heart x," while one social media user said: "It's the hardest thing ever."

In October, Martine heartbreakingly announced her brother LJ died at the age of 31.

"My heart is forever broken. My baby brother, my gentle giant, sadly passed away, suddenly, 2 weeks ago. He was 31 years old," she shared.

"There is no medical explanation as to why we lost him so soon and whilst we investigate further, we are having to accept that nothing will bring our boy back to us."

Before passing away, LJ was busy preparing for his upcoming wedding, and Martine was supposed to be a bridesmaid on the day.

The actress recalled: "The last time I saw him, was a few days before he passed. He, jack and his future stepson had been to try on their wedding suits and then they came back to have dinner with his fiancée and the family to see our new home. He looked so tanned, tall and handsome.

"The best I’ve ever seen him… Ironic really…"

Martine finished her caption with the tragic words: "I'm scared to live without you LJ but I know you will want us to truly live, laugh and love in your memory. I will try I promise."
