Madonna has cancelled the Boston leg of her Madame X tour.

The 61-year-old was set to play at The Boch Center Wang Theatre on November 30, December 1 and 2 before announcing that the concerts are cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

The Like A Virgin hitmaker pleaded with her fans for forgiveness in a statement she released and explained that she has been advised by medical professionals to rest up.

The statement read: “Please forgive this unexpected turn of events. Doing my show every night brings me so much joy and to cancel is a kind of punishment for me but the pain I’m in right now is overwhelming and I must rest and follow doctor’s orders so I can come back stronger and better and continue the Madame ❌ journey with all of you.”

The tour operator Live Nation added in a seperate announcement that: "It regrets to confirm that Madonna's Madame X concerts previously scheduled for November 30th, December 1st and 2nd at the Boston Center Wang Theatre are canceled due to doctor’s orders. We are sorry and regret the disappointment to fans in Boston.”

Ticket holders are set to be refunded back onto their method of payment automatically.

Fans of the iconic singer took to Twitter to share of their disappointment and concern for the Frozen musician.

One penned: "@Madonna Just got word Boston shows are cancelled. Disappointed but understand u not feeling well. Really hope for a reschedule. If you do, is there a way that fans like me that had good seats could skip all the majorly laborious ticket buying hoops?"

Another fan, who made a long journey for the show added: "And there I go from brazil to boston… two planes for nothing tell me about disappointment."

A worried fan shared: "For the very first time in my life, I'm very concerned & scared about @Madonnas health & wellbeing. She has never cancelled so many tour dates before. I really hope she gets better soon & specially this won't be a decline in her health for the future #MadameXTour #Boston."

Another gutted person added: "I fly to Boston on Friday night to see Madonna with one of my best and oldest friends. We went to see Madonna together 29 years ago together at Wembley. Madonna has just announced she has cancelled her Boston gigs. This is pretty disappointing… #madonna ."
