Louise Thompson admitted to feeling “selfish survival” when she first welcomed her son Leo into the world 14 months ago, following a traumatic birth.

Made in Chelsea’s Louise, who featured on the reality TV show with her brother Sam Thompson until 2020, has been very open about discussing her post-traumatic stress disorder, commonly referred to as PTSD.

On Monday, the 32 year old took to Instagram to share some pictures of herself in the bath with Leo from a recent family getaway at a luxury Herefordshire holiday cottage.

In the caption, the former The Jump contestant wrote: "A mother is a son's first true love*. A son, especially their first son, is a mother's last true love- Denzel Washington.

“I might not have been your FIRST love due to absence, but I hope to be your first ‘true’ love, because you are mine.”

In the comment section, fans and friends gushed over the pictures while wishing Louise the best.

Louise’s fiancé, Ryan Libbey, wrote: “Love you both so much.”

“Amen. I didn’t feel love for a long time due to PND but damn is it strong now,” another fan wrote, to which Louise herself replied: “It’s crazy how it creeps up on you the better you get!!! Wow it’s powerful. Another kind of love. I was so worried I didn’t feel anything at the beginning. Just selfish survival!”

Louise had a difficult 2022, which she detailed in a lengthy post earlier this month, and was recently diagnosed with lupus following numerous health issues.

This comes after the reality TV star detailed why she “can’t imagine” being pregnant again or giving birth.

She wrote: “I honestly couldn’t think of anything worse than being pregnant again… and worse yet the idea of going through childbirth. I am still trying to get to grips with what has happened to me (a slow and gruelling process) and i’m working on being the absolute best mother I can be to my one baby boy. I certainly don’t want to pile any additional stress on my plate. I’ve also only just started sinking my teeth into some work and i’m quite enjoying engaging my brain again.

“That’s not to say that it will NEVER happen again, because i’ve been told by many people that things can change, but I just can’t imagine it for me…ever again… ”

Her words struck a chord with Richard Madeley’s daughter, Chloe Madeley, who had a baby daughter with former rugby player James Haskell last year.

She replied to Louise’s post: “I am obsessed with my little love. And I think I would cry with dread if I had to do it all again anytime soon. It genuinely emotionally upsets me.

“I have NO IDEA how people have more than 1 in close succession. I can’t get my head around it.”
