Laurence Fox’s famous relatives have found themselves coming under attack for controversial comments that he made – becoming collateral damage for his eyebrow raising remarks.

Last month, the 41-year-old musician and actor came under fire following an appearance on the BBC’s Question Time in which he challenged views on racism and white privilege in the UK.

As a result, other members of the Fox acting dynasty have found themselves coming under attack – with reports suggesting cousins Freddie Fox and Emilia Fox have been caught in the crossfire.

Silent Witness star Emilia, 45, has found herself becoming the target of online trolls following Laurence’s comments – while younger cousin Freddie, 30, has been spat at in the street.

“Emilia and Freddie are quite sensitive and rarely air their views in public,” a source told the Mail on Sunday.

“Now they have been dragged into this argument and they don’t know how to deal with it,” the source continued.

The backlash that Emilia and Freddie have found themselves dragged in to is also dampening celebrations for Freddie – who has been winning over critics with his dramatic performance as killer Jeremy Bamber in the ITV drama White House Farm.

“Freddie should be basking in the glory – instead, he’s wiping spit off his face,” the source said.

Meanwhile, Laurence has divided opinion on social media since his Question Time appearance – with many Twitter followers praising him, while many others have expressed concern.

Others still have targeted the actor – who was married to Billie Piper between 2007 and 2016 – with abuse online.

While the star has laughed off much of the abuse, he has hinted that it has got him down – tweeting last week that performing his music at a gig had lifted his spirits.

“I’ve had a very difficult day emotionally, but to see a huge room of people swaying along to my howling and taking time after to say lovely things has lifted my spirits hugely," he tweeted.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he added.
