After several years as an opening act, country singer Lauren Alaina has announced she will embark on her first headlining tour this fall.

Alaina’s nine-show “That Girl Was Me Tour” kicks off September 14 in Columbia, Missouri, and wraps up on October 25 in Nashville, Tennessee.

“‘Tour’ not going to believe this!! I have never been more excited to share something with you. I’m going on my first headlining tour this fall, and we’re taking my buddy @filmoremusic on the #ThatGirlWasMeTour. Pre-sale starts tomorrow. Tickets go on sale everywhere Friday!” Alaina said on Twitter.

In an accompanying video, the runner up in the tenth season of “American Idol” talks about fans asking her about opening for other country superstars.

“I always love when y’all come up to me and say, ‘Hey, are you that girl I saw opening up for Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride, Blake Shelton?” Alaina says. “My answer is ‘Yes, that girl was me, and that girl is going on her very first headlining tour this fall.'”
