If you were under the impression that Kim Kardashian is in any way messing around, allow us to disabuse you of that notion right now.

As you’ve probably heard by now, Mrs. Kardashian-West is in the process of gradually turning away from the world of reality TV in order to focus on a higher calling.

Kim is working to become a lawyer, but she’s not waiting until she passes the bar to start making a difference in the lives of people who have been victimized by the American criminal justice system.

In the past year, Kim has secured pardons for several non-violent offenders locked up on drug charges, many of whom were serving life sentences.

We’d heard about the good work that Kim had been doing with Alice Marie Johnson (below) and a handful of other inmates — but little did we know that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

According to TMZ, Kim has quietly freed 17 inmates in the past three months.

She didn’t do it alone, of course, but it seems Kim’s clout was essential to the success of the 90 Days of Freedom campaign launched by Kim’s lawyer, Brittany K. Barnett, in partnership with lawyer MiAngel Cody of The Decarceration Collective.

And it seems that yet again, Kim is working in concert with Donald Trump, a situation which we’re sure is delighting her husband, Kanye West.

The mother of three and her group of legal eagles are working to ensure proper enforcement of the First Step Act, a prison reform bill that was signed into law by Trump last year.

In addition to using her fame to curry favor with our fame-obsessed president, Kim has been funded the appeals process for more than 20 prisoners.

Among those freed by Kim and company are:

Jamelle Carraway, who served 11 years of a life sentence after being arrested for cocaine possession at the age of 20. Carraway is now back with his family.

Eric Balcom, who was sentenced to life in prison at the age of 29. He recently saw his elderly mother for the first time in 16 years.

Terrence Byrd, who was recently reunited with his 96-year-old grandmother after spending half of his 50 years behind bars.

No doubt Kim will continue to absorb endless criticism from online trolls.

But hopefully, we can all agree that she’s doing some very good work here.
