Katie Piper was up in the early hours to catch a flight to Dublin today. However, the television star soon ran into trouble as she attempted to make her away to her event in Ireland.

People are going crazy at the poor guy who has delivered the news to us

Katie Piper

The 36-year-old asked her 938,000 Instagram followers to “pray for me” after getting “stuck” at Heathrow Airport.

The mother-of-two said fellow travellers were “going crazy” at the staff attempting to help them make other arrangements.

Katie had arrived nice and early for the scheduled flight and had time for breakfast, before being told the frustrating news.

She captioned a video: “Pray for me. I’m due on stage in two hours in Dublin – currently stuck at Heathrow.”

Going into further details, the author continued: “So I’m due on stage in Dublin in two hours and I’m currently sat at London Heathrow, because my flight’s been cancelled.

“So Staff [Livesey] has just gone to the gate to try and buy us another flight. If such thing exists.”

She then hit out at her angry companions, saying: “… Our flight has been cancelled and people are going crazy at the poor guy who has delivered the news to us.

“He’s just doing his job and trying to help us find alternative options!”

But she did enjoy a lovely moment in the midst of the madness, thanks to an ITV viewer.

Katie shared a picture of a Duty Free carrier bag, explaining: “How sweet a lovely lady in the airport just approached me and gave me this gift as she has been watching @lorraine and taking something from #FebYOUary.”

The latter saw her appear on the daily morning show to discuss Kate Middleton’s admission that she struggles with “mum guilt”.

Katie went on to meet viewer Sian and spoke to her about how she can feel overwhelmed by life and full of guilt if she takes time for herself.
