Online superstar JoJo Siwa says she’s “not about” a kissing scene in her upcoming movie – and she wants it removed.
The 18-year-old YouTube sensation is set to star in “Bounce,” the film adaptation of the Megan Shull book about a girl who wishes to trade families around the holidays. Siwa plays the main character whose wish is granted as she tries out different families on Christmas Eve over and over.
There’s a scene in the movie where Siwa kisses a guy, but the teenaged singer, who came out as a member of the LGBTQ community in January, says she doesn’t want that scene included.
“I’m madly in love and I do not want to kiss another human, especially because it’s a man,” she told Entertainment Weekly in its digital Pride cover story published Tuesday.

Siwa made her relationship with her girlfriend Kylie Prew Instagram official with a photo of them holding hands in February. The singer told Entertainment Weekly that though her girlfriend is OK with the scene, Siwa thinks the scene could be a problem with her fans because it’ll be “weird” for them to separate her as an actress from who she is in reality.
“I’m not about it. I’m trying to get it pulled so bad. It’ll happen. It’ll get pulled,” she added.
USA TODAY reached out to Paramount Pictures who owns the rights to the upcoming film and Siwa’s reps for comment.
“Bounce,” which is produced by Will Smith’s Westbrook production company, does not yet have a release date.
In an interview with People in January, Siwa admitted that she “never wanted (my coming out) to be a big deal,” especially to her particularly young fan base.
“I’ve known since I was little,” she said, adding that she had “a lot that could have gone away because of my love life.” Siwa said that she was met with criticism and negativity by some of her followers when she initially came out as a member of the LGBTQ community.

“I was thinking that all the comments were going to be nice and supportive, and they weren’t,” she said. “A lot of them were, ‘I’m never buying your merch again. My daughter’s never watching you again.’ I couldn’t sleep for three days.”
However, she has a message for her followers who may not approve of her sexuality: “I don’t want people to watch my videos or buy my merchandise if they aren’t going to support not only me, but the LGBTQ community.”
