WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD – DO NOT READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW!

We said goodbye to Felicity Smoak on Arrow last night in one of the best season finales ever.

If you haven’t watched the episode, we highly suggest you skip past this post right now, because we’re going to go into everything that happened.

Emily Bett Rickards announced that she’d be leaving the series earlier last month.

“I thank you all for the time we’ve shared / The elevators we have climbed / The monsters we have faced and scared / And The burgers we have dined / I will keep her in my heart for always / And I hope that you can too / Because she would not be alive if it weren’t for all of you ?,” she wrote in her poem.

In the finale of the show, pretty much all of Team Arrow reunited to end Emiko’s terrorist attack on the city…and with one last attempt, Oliver convinced Emiko to stop what she was doing and redeem herself. However, once she started to fight against the Ninth Circle, she died in the battle.

Emiko (Sea Shimooka) then told Oliver that he and Felicity needed to go into hiding to protect their daughter – and that’s exactly what they did.

Leaving the rest of the team to defend the city, Oliver and Felicity relocated to that isolated home we saw “Star City 2040” and remained there for Mia’s (Katherine McNamara) birth. Their lives calmed down and they even started discussing the possibility of asking Williams’ parents for joint custody — of course, that’s exactly when the Monitor shows up to remind Oliver of the deal they made.

If you watched the Elseworlds crossover event, Oliver made a deal with the Monitor – in exchange for the Monitor saving Barry (Grant Gustin) and Kara (Melissa Benoist), Oliver had to agree to leave his life and go with the Monitor to save the multiverse from the impending crisis.

Even though Felicity fights against it, learning that he will die in the “Crisis on Infinite Earths,” he leaves with the Monitor.

Flashing to 2040, future Team Arrow successfully takes down the ARCHER program and the Zetas by destroying the wall that separated the Glades from the rest of Star City.

After that, Dinah, Roy, and Felicity decide do that and go on the run for the rest of their lives because they know Mia, William (Ben Lewis), Zoe (Andrea Sixtos), and Connor (Joseph David Jones) can keep the city safe.

However, before leaving, Felicity takes Mia and William to visit Oliver’s grave — which confirms he dies in 2019 — because she wants to say goodbye to them one last time.

Mia and William aren’t understanding of why they can’t see her again, but it all comes to light when we see her meet with the Monitor – and heads straight to where Oliver is.
