Emmerdale star Samantha Giles has recently brought out a new book, but she is best known for playing Bernice Blackstock in the long-running ITV soap.
However, in spite of how it may seem, Samantha admitted that being an actress isn't all red carpets and sparkly ballgowns.
When we caught up with the soap star for our exclusive interview and photoshoot, she revealed what life is really like behind the scenes in Soapland.
"It’s certainly not as glamorous as people think – the whole actor thing," she told us. "I mean, if you could see us at tea break and sort of you know you’re getting your teabag in you’re getting your hot water and your milk and then scooting back up to your dressing room. It’s so not glamorous."
She continued: "It makes it look glamorous when you see people at those awards and things but the reality is disgusting cold tea in polystyrene mugs, not having time to even have a wee and hobbling around in heels and clear plastic rain hats when it’s raining so your hair doesn’t get frizzy."
Despite the drawbacks, Samantha revealed that the cast and crew are what make Emmerdale such a special place to work.
"One of my favourite things about Emmerdale is that we do have some really lovely people working on this show. The people make it, don't they."

We also quizzed Samantha on what her dream role would be it, and it couldn't be further from the character she's played on and off since 1998.
"I’ve always wanted to do a horror film," Samantha told us. "I’ve very narrowly missed out on a few actually."
She continued: "I kind of feel like it’s on my thing. If your life is written in the stars then it’s been written down, but I haven’t quite done it yet because we’ve got a few little false thingies which has meant
"I haven’t been able to do a horror film yet, but hopefully it will happen. So that would be great to do that I would love it."

When asked if she'd like to do Strictly Come Dancing, Samantha said: "If I was offered Strictly that would be fun. It’s be quite scary wouldnt’ it."
She added: "I don't think I would cope with doing I’m A Celebrity…. I’m just so terrified of spiders it would be horrific. I know they don’t do it in Australia at the moment because of Covid but you know when they jump out of helicopters – I couldn’t do it.
"You wouldn't in a helicopter because I think they’re dangerous let alone jumping out of one. No, no, no!"
