Ed Sheeran, 30, is reportedly facing an investigation by council inspectors, after busybodies spotted a new wooden gazebo was on his property. It comes after the Suffolk singer shared a jokey video on Instagram of him guzzling wine at his home in his garden in a new music promo, when eagle-eyed complainers are said to have moaned about the structure potentially going up “without proper permission”.

East Suffolk Council

A source told The Sun that they were shocked someone had complained about the structure on his multimillion pound estate.

“It’s beggars belief that anyone would take the time to phone the council and complain about it but someone has,” they sighed.

“The gazebo was spotted after Ed posted a video of himself in the garden last month talking about his music comeback.

“It can be seen when he is standing outside his boozer, the Lancaster Lock.”

They added: “He had permission to build a bar area, with decking and a pizza oven, along with two barbecues.

“But whoever complained is saying that the gazebo was never there before.”

The insider continued to explain that the council is now looking into whether he needs planning permission for it.

“Because his property is Grade Two listed, all sorts of hoops have to be jumped through if any work is done,” they shrugged.

East Suffolk council confirmed it was looking into the structure at the musician’s pad, with a spokesperson explaining: “We have been made aware that a gazebo has been erected at this property and we are making enquiries to establish if there are any planning requirements.”

Express.co.uk contacted the singer’s reps for comment.

Over the years, Sheeran has bought four houses to create a £3.7million mini village in the town of Framlingham.

It features a wildlife pond, a gym and an outdoor kitchen.

But his plans for the plot have already created hassle for the singer when back in 2019 infuriated neighbours complained about the pond, stating they weren’t convinced that’s exactly what it was.

The Shape Of You songwriter had sought permission to have the wildlife pond situated on his property but locals believed it to be a plush pool instead.
