EastEnders star Michelle Collins is MARRIED! Cindy Beale actress, 60, wears white jumpsuit to tie the knot with toyboy Mike Davidson, 38, with her ex soap husband Adam Woodyatt in attendance

EastEnders star Michelle Collins has tied the knot with her toyboy lover Mike Davidson at Islington Town Hall on Wednesday. 

The 60-year-old soap star, best known for playing Cindy Beale, looked incredible in a white jumpsuit as she said ‘I do’ to her long-term love, before kissing one another outside on the street while clutching glasses of champagne. 

The happy couple were covered in confetti as they exited the town hall, with Michelle wearing a floral garland atop her head. Mike mirrored her style in a white jacket which he wore over a black shirt and trousers.

The couple left to start married life in a classic white convertible which had been decorated in ribbon. 

Michelle’s former co-star Adam Woodyatt, who played Cindy’s ex-husband on EastEnders, was also in attendance but looked fairly casual in blue trousers and a striped shirt. 

The pair’s characters were fairly acrimonious on EastEnders. Cindy famously died in childbirth while in prison. 

She had been sent down after being sent down for hiring a hitman to kill Ian when he says he will take her to court over custody of their children, in a storyline that aired in 1998.

Also present on the day was Lord Michael Cashman – who is better known for his political career than his acting ability these days. He found fame on EastEnders 36 years ago as Colin Russell and returned to the show in 2016 for a brief stint. 

The former Labour MEP appeared on the programme for three years from 1986 and hit the headlines when his character shared the first gay kiss in a British soap opera.

The star used the platform EastEnders gave him to raise awareness for LGBT rights, founding charity Stonewall in 1989. He was an MEP for the West Midlands from 1999 until 2014, when he was appointed to the House of Lords.

Soap star Michelle confirmed her engagement to Mike in April by sharing an image from a friend’s account on her Instagram Stories. 

The snap showed the screen star sipping champagne with the caption: ‘The bride to be @michellecollins.’ 

According to The Sun, a source said Michelle told pals: ‘We know it’s late notice, but we’ve been together for 10 years and what’s the point in waiting.

Pucker up: The couple couldn’t stop kissing one another as they put on their wedding bands for the first time

‘We thought life is too short and we want to see all of our friends and celebrate.’

The actress previously hit out at critics of the 22-year age gap between the duo and was frustrated to be branded as a ‘cougar’.

Michelle – who has also appeared in Coronation Street and Doctor Who – said in 2018: ‘Mike is 22 years younger than me and I’m regarded as a predator. It drives me mad. People call him my toyboy beau. He’s nearly 35, for God’s sake.

‘He turned to me the other day and said, ‘Surely I’m not still your toyboy, am I?’

‘I laugh about it now but it is annoying. And I hate that word cougar. I can’t stand it. I find it so demeaning. A cougar is a predator going around looking for young flesh. I’m certainly not like that.’
