Strictly: Nadiya reveals ‘secret’ about Dan Walker’s first dance

BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, 44, has revealed that his Strictly Come Dancing partner Nadiya Bychkova, 32, was “a big hit” with his family after he introduced her to them today. Dan revealed that during a break from dance training, he took the opportunity to show Nadiya around his hometown of Sheffield.
Dan told his 216,000 Instagram followers their day consisted of a trip to his hairdresser, before heading back to his home for dinner, prepared by his wife Sarah Walker.
Nadiya met Sarah and the couple’s children, daughters Susanna and Jessica, and son Joe, alongside their beloved pet dog Winnie.
Dan began by sharing a selfie with Nadiya, while his hairdresser Sam posed excitedly in the background at the salon.
He then posted a snap of Nadiya beaming for the camera alongside his children, whose faces were obscured by smiling emojis.
Dan wrote alongside the sweet photos: “I got the chance to show @nadiyabychkova around Sheffield a bit today after training.
“She came to meet Sam at @capellihairsheffield – she’s booked in for a few weeks time – and she popped round for tea too!
“Mrs Walker cooked something lovely & the kids (and Winnie) had a lovely time #SheffieldIsSuper #Strictly.”
Dan then shared the same photo of Nadiya with his children on his Instagram Stories.
He captioned it: “Guess who came round for tea?
“@nadiyabychkova was a big hit in the Walker house.”
Nadiya took to the comments section of Dan’s Instagram post to thank him and his family for welcoming her into their home for dinner.
She wrote: “What a great day! Thank you partner! Really enjoying Sheffield.

“Was super cool to meet Sam, cannot wait for my hair appointment.
“So lovely to meet Mrs Walker(what a delicious dinner) and my highlight was meeting the kids!
“Ahhh it just made my day! What a beautiful family! Thank you again.”
Dan cheekily replied: “@nadiyabychkova I’m not sure Sam enjoyed meeting you that much… look how unexcited he is [laughing face emojis]
“Next up… I’ll introduce you to some Henderson’s Relish. You’ll never look back.”
Dan and Nadiya will be performing their first routine together on Saturday night after getting involved in a group routine with their Strictly co-stars on last weekend’s launch show.
The duo will be performing the Quickstep.
Dan returned to training this week after having to take some time off due to an injury.
He had to go to hospital for a head scan after walking into a glass door.
Updating fans on social media, Dan said a CT scan had come back clear with no signs of bleeding to the brain, but that he was told to rest for the remainder of the week.
